19212670 turbo upgrade specs ?

I know the ECM gets re-mapped, but what does the flashing actually change?
How does this affect timing, fuel pressure, fuel delivery, and the turbo......does it increase the boost.....and to what ?
Is there a document that explains this in any detail ?
Thanks!
Al

No trolling here.........I was actually looking for insight.
19212670 is the GM part # for the turbo upgrade.
I am curious as what the boost is opened up to , and what other parameters are changed with the re-flash.
And yes, I have had it done and it works well.........

It bumps the parameters up to make the advertised power just like the stock tune does. I haven't done a direct compare on HPTuners to see the differences though

I looked at it, very minimal changes actually. I few DAL changed, slight timing I believe.

The main difference I saw is that it allows more torque in the MALT tables. Basically they nannied the car at lower RPMs in the stock tune.

Obviously the MAP sensor readings are changed in the GMS1 tune but that doesn't really add performance only tuning ability.

Knowing what I know now, I would have rather bought HPTuners and got a basic tune from ZZP or a tuner. Install the sensors myself.

Biggest factor with the GMS1 upgrade is you retain the 5/100 powertrain warranty. Peace of mind and a nice bump in power with no drivability issues.

Had GMS1 installed in my first SS/TC for about 6 months. Got bored with it. Installed a downpipe and K&N SRI and then got a real Tune.

Tune off = GMS1 On (good for inclement weather). Tune On = Wow…

2010 model year does not have 5 year 100k mile warranty anymore.

^ Correct. Should of said "was". Thinking of when I installed it - when I bought my 2010 new.

Time flies.

Thread is already 2 weeks old but i thought i could add some detail.

No you will not find any true GM documentation. This is GM (or Bosch) internal intellectual property and they will not share their details with the public. just like any other car, they don't tell you how much spark advance they use and why.

Using HP Tuners software (free demo) you can find and compare the base tune to the GM stage kit tune, feel free to do it yourself, HPTuners forum is a VERY good source of information. I've compared them before and i'll try to list some things from memory.

- the biggest thing as mentioned before is the increase in power from torque management, like already stated MALT (max? air? load? torque? table? i think?) is a big one and some other torque management calibrations.

- Turbo PID controller, turbo pressure ratio limits, max boost limits, etc allowing the turbo to boost higher.

- spark is only advance very little, 1 degree or less i think, and only at the high engine load, high rpm region.

- and obviously the calibrations for the new 3 bar MAP sensors, and associated diagnostics.

The outcome is that the car boosts from about 15 psi to somewhere ABOUT 20-22 psi after. It varies because it is still (as expected) highly governed by the torque management system that cares about making a certain calculated torque and not boost.

NOTE: it is important to remember that even HPTuners only allows access to a limited number of calibrations, and therefore you will only see some of the changes in the tune, yes, there are more changes that can't be seen in HPTuners.

As mentioned the changes are considered minimal, basically just bumping up the boost through their torque management system. Even I, a very new hobbyist, changed way more things with HPTuners than the stage kit, but i did use it at the beginning to understand what they changed by comparing base to stage kit tune.

I don't understand the using of hptuners as a free demo. what does a free demo help? u have to buy the dongle and cable anyway to hook it up to ur car.

The OP asked about the differences between stock tune and GM stage 1 tune.
You can get the demo software, find the 2 tunes in .hpt file format, and look at all the differences visible with HPTuners software. I know it's possible without access to their repository because i've done it before i bought HPTuners.
You are right, you can't flash anything, or even change anything, but that's not what the OP asked for, he asked what are the differences.

But those aren't all the differences. HPTunes doesn't have access to all the tables in the ECU, or they haven't released all the tables
