Forge BOV green spring too soft?

Hey guys, im using the forge BOV and it has been a little annoying lately during cruising. even with -10 vacuum it makes a loud blow off noise (not full blow off sound but still makes noise), so in 5th gear 70mph, every single time I touch the pedal and let go it blows off.

My question is, should I swap a yellow spring? I feel like it is opening too easy. I bought it used so I didn't get one with it and done want to buy the $20-30 spring kit if others have used it and not had good results. I purposely didn't buy one already because of the people with BPV's that say yellow spring causes flutter.

Does anyone with a forge BOV have the same issues?

****IF you are going to talk crap about a BOV or tell me to remove it just save your time and move on, don't bother posting. *****

Mine did that when I was on GMS1 it almost sounds like a little whoosh. I'm HPTuned to 25psi and have the yellow spring in and it just works great for me.

But if it's stuck open you probably need to grease the BPV

Its not stuck it just opens too much and too easily, like driving bearing touching the gas with a single toe! In 5th on the highway and letting off WHOOOSH

Yeah I mean it really depends on how much boost you're making. What is your tune?

Most people have issues with the stronger spring, even in high boost applications. But your running a bov while others run a bpv so the outcome might be better for you. Every car is different so yours might like the stronger spring.

Running a 26PSI HPT, but the problem isn't with full boost its the fact that it opens from -10 to 5 psi too much in my opinion.

The stock one was probably doing it too. The forged one is just louder.

You could try a spacer, I dont recall the forge design but you can shim/spacer the back of the spring like 1/16 or 1/8 and that increases the spring load. Just log after and make sure it still dumps enough air after a WOT pull

He's talking about the BOV not the BPV.

That's how it is, if u want to get rid of that remove ur vacuum tank, it builds and holds vacuum to open the bpv quicker, removing it makes ur bpv slightly slower, enough to not be annoying

That's weird, mine made a difference. But ya, use yellow spring then. I just put green back in and it annoys me for other reasons. So back to yellow

since its solenoid controlled im pretty sure that the ecu commands it open every time you let off the throttle. this is why i have a stock intake on my car, irritating as hell. lol

Solenoid is used in over boost or under boost situations. It would work exactly he same as if it was on the intake manifold. Either way u have it hooked up the vacuum will still open it when u let off the gas.

Green spring 50,000km+, been on a year+, no problems yet. Need to re-lube soon though. BOV not the BPV. I tried blue and it was too Stiff. Never tried yellow might give it a go someday.
