Very underestimated
So I am completly debadged all around, the only thing thats left are the two bowties but what other drivers dont know is that im Hp tuned, Hahn catless Dp, Hahn intake, dejon intercooler piping, Forge BPV spring, and close to 25 psi. So im driving home this evening after watching the UFC fight at a friends house and a 2011 v6 Mustang pulls up next to me and revs his engine. He rolls down his window and calls my car a piece of junk and that a "base" Cobalt with a "body kit" cant keep up with his 300+ hp. So I told him not to worry about it and watch the light. It hits green and we take off, Im spinning all through 1st, 2nd, and beginning of 3rd and by that time he's in my rear view and staying there. He drives by and gives me the thumbs up. Well and interested GTI spectator decides its his turn at the light. So feeling in a good mood i decide to wait for the light. He tells me he's APR stage 2 with full catback and everything and again he says I cant keep up. Light hits green and again he's about 2-3 cars behind me.
Oh yea and I forgot to mention about that 2011 5.0 Mustang kill earlier this week. It's been a very good week for me but damn I need better tires. hahahahaha.

they're in the post...and right now working on my devil's own kit, some engine mounts, and re-tuning it.
but yes it was from a 40 roll, once i pulled about 2 cars on him and kept it there he pulled back, then he ran the red to avoid lining up with me at the light.

Employing 32-valves and Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing(Ti-VCT), the new 5.0 produces a mighty 412 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque (check out our Deep Dive for more details). No word on performance figures, but expect a mid-four second 0-60 sprint and a quarter-mile in the high 12s. At least. Especially as the current Mustang GT (315-hp, 320 lb-ft of torque) hits 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and runs the quarter in 13.5. Oh, according to Ford, the new 5.0 weighs just ten pounds more than the outgoing GT. We like that last bit very much.

and my gf was there riding with me. but she couldnt pull out the camera in time cuz the 5.0 was right on my bumper all of a sudden till it swerved right next to me and honked three times. i didnt even have time to think! hahahahaha. but still pulled it off.
and yea there's about 5 driving around my city right now.

it's about 800 lbs MORE then the cobalt.. and on motor trend they show it putting down 377 whp and 351 wtrq i'm not seeing how thats going to overcome 800 lbs.. 650 if you include weight difference for extra passenger and say the OP was heavier then the driver of the mustang lol
plus a roll is alot different then a dig..

heck no! that driver takes advantage of every inch on that mustang seat while im able to comfortably enjoy our seats! he's probably got about 75lbs on me...and my gf is jus under 110.

idk i havnt been to the track lately so i dont know what theyre running here but the other day it was a cool 106 at 5 p.m. here in Texas. it's probably jus about the same if not worse for you guys.

I'm gonna *revise* the stats on performance a bit and show some comparisons with MY SS/TC tuned...(308WHP..360 FT LBS)..(see my image link if you want to confirm...https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/fil...orum_pic_4.jpg).
I found these test results from Motor trend:

Mustang Only:
0-30 2.0 sec 0-40 2.7 0-50 3.6 0-60 4.7 0-70 5.8 0-80 7.4 0-90 8.9 0-100 10.7 Quarter mile 13.1 sec @ 110.8
So with 13.1 and @110, it's *closer* to a tuned Balt (still faster).
I'm going to compare some of these #s above to what I've found on my car:
11 Stang MY CAR
50-80.....3.8 3.8
60-90.....4.2 4.8
60-100....6.0 6.4
So...looks like Stang is about 1/2 sec quicker..give or take. Driver can certainly make up the difference. Looks like our TUNNED Balts not that far behind after all. Of course that's compared to a BONE STOCK Stang

hahahaha well if your jus gonna rain on my parade yea you could back it up like that. but for having half as many cylinders and engine size not that bad for our Balts! hahahahahaha. plus its jus a moral victory for me. if this guy or anyone else is going to mod them, then i have some more suprises for them. namely the DevilsOwn kit and if I still can't hold my own then bigger turbo! FTW!

I love how a couple of magazines go 12's with the new 5.0 and people like ronn (Captain am Ituned or not?)think there is no way you should beat that car.Real world #'s of the new 5.0 aren't that good mid 13's and up.We all know it comes down to the driver,but I still think it's ignorant to say "are you sure he wasn't playin' around" when someone says the won.
