Low ash oil recommendations
I'm trying to find oil with low ash content.
From what I am seeing Mobile 1 ESP 5w30 should fit the bill. Am I missing anything?
https://mobiloil.com/en/motor-oils/mobil-1/mobil-1-esp
I've seen mention of European versions. This AMSOIL ESP seems to fit that but doesn't specifically call out low ash.
AMSOIL European Car Formula 5W-30 Improved ESP Synthetic Motor Oil
Mr. Powell recommends "low ash" oil but I haven't seen him recommend anything specific, I like to know what he's using.
I'm pulling the intake this summer and walnut blasting, and going to pick up Mr. Powell's PCV system. I've been keeping the RPM's up and using 93 octane to minimize the coking but I want to make sure I'm running the right oil too.

I think you can be sure you have the right oil properties (low ash, and all others required for the LNF) if you use one with GM4718M approval. It is on normal Mobil1 5w-30 that can be had cheap at Walmart (it's on the back label).
The ESP does not have that approval, so while I agree that I think it is low ash, I am not sure it meets the other requirements.

GM4718M is about heat management without an oil cooler.
Many oils meet the requirement but don't have official accreditation due to the costs involved for the relatively few cars that require it.

For the LNF, I am sure there are a long list of oils that would work fine as long as they are low ash (even if they don't have the GM cert). But I will stick to M1 5w-30 because I just daily drive my car. But if I did track it, I would probably be looking at a better oil for that purpose.
