same cam sensor as the SS/SC, and we all know they've had their share of problems. Pull the code if it comes back and let us know what the code is then we can help more.

Who's paying MSRP on these cars? I could of bought a 08 civic si for the same price as my 08 SS. I have no intention of selling the car in 2 yrs. If you intend on constantly switching vehicles then you should lease your car. The Civic driver in 2 yrs. may have a car worth more than mine but the grins per mile will make up for it.

Sorry but he was correct Chevy does not use fuel inertia switches to cut off fuel.Ford does. The oil pressure switch on your car doubles as a fuel cutoff solenoid. ...

Umm, what do you expect from a car that's been hit and has had major body/mechanical work done already?

Really, you surprise me with some of the stuff you say sometimes ...

My car is 1 year old w/8.5k and it sounds as solid as the day I took it home.

And that's how most of the 'Balts are ...

Nope.

Here's the numbers comparing an '07 Si to my '07 SS/SC (both computed for a mileage of 8.5k):

2007 Honda Civic Si 2dr Coupe
Trade In - $17,425

2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS 2dr Coupe w/Supercharger
Trade In - $16,484

Now take into account the $2,500 Rebate I got (which Chevy regularly offers on their vehicles but Honda does not because people have been lulled into believing they make better cars), and the $941 difference in Honda's favor is flipped over to $1,559 in Chevy's favor.

People who believe that Honda's are better overall values than American cars aren't taking the time to do the math ...

Drop.

Just like the Honka's price will.

Except the SC already has a $1,559 savings head start on the import.

finally some one with some knowledge to this thread, i use to sell nissan and well that didn't last to long, i sold them for 4 months and i saw 6 lemons come out of that dealership, and 4 of them were titans due to the brakes. i son't go around talking crap about different car manufactures when there all about the same, make and sell as many cars as you can.

Bingo - For example - Toyota's reliabity ratings have dropped like a brick over the past couple of years, their 4 cylinder engines have a tendency to burn oil due to stuck oil control rings (even if you kept up with the oil changes, its like the old Saturn s-series). Wannabefastss mentioned problems with the Nissans. Honda's have similar issues, the higher resale value is due to perception, not necessarily reliability (have you actually seen the older Honda's on the road? $3500 for a POS is the norm). We all know about Fords reputation. Every manufacturer has issues in their own way.

well now the dealership can turn right around and sell the honda for 21,000 to some dumb ass who has the perception that honda'e a better and with gas mileage as high as it is, guess who wins. rebates kills the resale value, thats why honda and toyota don't offer many, resale value is good for individual seller, were as trading in a car value wise is set by you and the dealer, if you let the dealer walk all over you then your not going to get what you want out of your car (delearships nic pick the crap out of trade-ins). granted you want get retail.

I think if us SS/SC owners decide to trade our cars in for an SS/TC we should get a GM "guinea pig" discount. What do you guys think?

Of course leave it to Buffalo to be the first place with a broken SS/TC.

Just a thought and a known fact that if you have large or heavy items on your key chain it will click off the ignition due to how sensitive the switch is. Any hard bump of a pot hole or any other sudden jerk in the car will trip this. The weight of the key fob or any accessory added to it will easily turn off your ignition. Unfortunately it's another flaw in the design that was overlooked and should actually be recalled for; talk about a freak incident.

I had my car in numerous times because it was shutting off on highways and other road trips which totally freaked me out, all happening after hitting pot holes or uneven transition sections in the road almost causing accidents! Dealership could not find anything wrong....I was so f*in mad with this car I didn't even trust to drive it because of this. It wasn't until the 6th or 7th time that I finally figured out the culprit of the problem. I had a slightly heavy swiss tool on my key fob that if I started the car, picked it up and dropped it while the ignition was on run it would very simply click the ignition off. Removed the tool and have not had any problems since.....sorry to high jack the thread but just an FYI: watch what you add to your key chains.

Thanks!

But all I did was just apply real world numbers.

I don't make a habit of putting down any specific cars either, I just look at the whole picture.

So if we take into account that all of the major manufacturers have 100,000 mile Powertrain Warranties, I come up with the formula:

Price + Speed + Warranty = Overall Value

Simple.

the only vehicle that holds any type of value after 5 yrs is any jeep wrangler before 2007, we sold a 2006 with 20k for the sticker price of 25k, im tellin ya, if you can find one with a 4l in good shape, pick it up, its a good investment.

I just got an update from the dealer. They're saying it was indeed the electric fuel pump that went, and a new one is on the way. So hopefully I'll have it back soon!

The dealer (Paddock) is treating me very well with lots of respect. The salesperson calls me frequently with status updates, which is amazing to me because as others have mentioned, some salespeople don't want to be bothered after the sale.

And by the way, the night I picked up the car I also ordered front floor mats and pedal covers, and the service manager said they're going to throw those in for me no charge for my trouble! I'm very happy with how I'm being treated.

I'll post again when I get the car back...

Electric fuel pumps across all vehicles have been a headache for all manufactures since they came out, not too uncommon to have one die right away.
