Hey Pitbull I send you an email answering your question according to the VIN you provided. Also here is a link to what's covered under the Powertrain Warranty.

Hey Jim,
Sorry to hear you wife is having this concern. Private message me her VIN so I can look into this for you guys. I would like to see which warranties you are still under and if you have any special coverages. I look forward to hearing from you.

I'd think if you haven't lost any coolant yet, you're probably OK. That being said, you're not modded and therefore haven't put much strain on the block. It's all a gamble, anyway. That's where that irritating "You gotta pay to play" saying comes from.

Picking up a 2010 SS tomorrow, it had the low coolant light on,, there was still coolant in the overflow tank and only needed like 1/8 cup to fill to the line and turn the light off, he says in all the years he's owned it he's never put coolant in and it has 130,000KM on it, theirs no coolant on his clean garage floor either.
Am I to understand that the cracked blocks were sorted out in the 2010 cobalts? and a cracked block is something that would have probably been caught after this long with that car yes? I'm just worried, as long as you guys know 2010's are free of the issue I'll get the car, but after reading on here I'm a bit paranoid about it all.

With Porus block when it happens ull know, cause ull be filling ur coolent every day. Some guys had it happen few thousand km after they bought it, some more. It can show its face at any mileage. But if ur up around 50k miles or more it's unlikely ull have it

Yeah, I haven't heard of any '08's with it. I am so glad I have an '08. I wouldn't buy an '09 SS for anything and would be pissed if I owned one simply because the resale is really going to go to ****.

I have a 2009 Cobalt SS TC build date 08/08 and I had a low coolant on my DIC recently. I'm the second owner and after driving about 10k miles I had the low coolant message. Refilled it with 50/50 dexcool and it hasn't gone down since. Does this happen to every 08 and 09?? My car current sits at 32k miles. What are the symptoms??
