I have a car boner right now... isn't this considered ****?

No danger to manifold warnings here.

Had to buy the 32mm oil filter pod socket. There is just no room to get to that thing any other way. Took exactly 6 quarts. Not a drop of any fluids in sight, no rubbing, and I think I blew all the crap out of the muffler because I dont smell burnt motor anymore.

What kind of gains do you think I'll see from canned tune to dyno tune? On canned 91 right now but may go 93 for the dyno.

With your mods in your sig and the LDK on a canned tune at least 300-320 easy... edited tune you could pump out some serious numbers though!

Any tune should be better than a canned tune.

Almost 600 miles now and still getting better every drive. Actually had some torque steer last night. I have been short shifting it around 5k and no heavy throttle unless 3500. It's really weird to be able to feel an engine break in. Also clutch engagement is higher now where it should be as expected.

Take a deep breath and ignore Cobe. I forget if you have the mechanical faced gauge or the RPD, the mechanical faced gauge is meh on accuracy. I watched mine spike to 27 one night with the WR-1, my turbo is still fine (over 7k miles since the 27psi spike)

It's a 2010 so it's RPD. Perhaps that's just a limitation of an internally gated system and a very fast spooling turbo. It can't keep up. I need an interceptor so I can keep an eye on multiple things. I have seen 2 degrees knock retard at full boost but usually hangs at 1 or 0. No reason to take chances this close to getting a tune. I'll take it easy.

Ok so I have over 1,000 miles on the new engine now and it's getting closer to tune time. I am debating on going with E85 as it's about the same availability as 93 and if I choose to have to hunt down fuel it may as well be worth it.

However, I don't want to be paranoid and I don't want to have to test fuel every time I fill up. Is it possible to tune for this scenario? Do you guys running E even test yours anyway? Is there such a thing as a conservative E85 tune or am I better off keeping this simple and sticking with 91? Remember I only drive this car when it's sunny.

If I have missed a thread about fuels and tunes please share a link!

Someone installed a ethanol sensor inline to determine what grade blend they got. I'd just go for a 91/93 tune.

The whole ethanol thing sounds like a huge pain in the ass the more I read about it. I'm not interested in having a paperweight for 5 months again.

Get a 91 tune and run 93. It will last forever. Ive got 310whp and 335wtq on 91. That's plenty for now. Kevss said its a very mild tune. 23psi.

How is running E a PITA? Put it in the tank and go. Test it if you like.

You just fill up without worrying about it? What if it's an unfamiliar station out of town and it's a couple months old? That's my main concern as I travel to Des Moines and Chicago from Davenport fairly regularly and will be taking the Cobalt if the weather is right.

Depends on availability of E around and if you take long road trips, I wouldn't want to have to swap fuels just for a long trip or hop
E station to E station

ZZP small intercooler, Hahn hot and cold side turbo piping, K&N Typoon SRI, Hahn Catless DP, TWM SS, HP Dual Tuned at 23psi and 18psi.
Never ever seen a hint of knock retard. Clutch is starting to slip tho. KY stage 3 coming soon. 4.05 gears too.

You can buy a tester on eBay and test it at the pump. That's what I'm going to do once tuned on E47. If I plan on going out of town I'll bring a couple 5 gallon containers of it with me just in case.

I've decided to stick with 91 and a progressive boost ramp. Whatever the LDK makes is where it'll stay. It will still be loads of fun to drive and be pretty safe. Will post numbers and sheets when it's all done.

I didn't test e85 and didn't have any issues, but I live in a warm area. Admittedly, though, I haven't run E47 in over a year because it was just a pain if I wanted to drive a long distance.
