Smoke after hitting boost

What would cause blueish white smoke only after hitting boost?

Is my turbo done or do i need a catch can?

Car has stock k04 with bolt ons and tune.

Doesnt smoke when reving or when regular driving.

Compression test went
1-120psi
2-150psi
3-155psi
4-120psi

No oil on spark plugs which is good and also the Oil is not milky at all.

Any input and advice is much appreciated

(edited Post)

Turbo seals are probably toast. Although 1 and 4 do have compression lower than normal. But I say turbo because mine was doing the exact same thing and I already had a ZFR so I swapped them and when I did, I left my k04 sitting on a workbench with the turbine facing down and intake of the compressor sitting straight up. The next time I picked it up, there was oil dripping off my turbine wheel.

Mine was like a 3 second burst of smoke right after doing a pull. After a few seconds, it just totally disappeared. But also check your PCV lines because mine weren't flowing correctly and I suspect that blowby buildup during pulls is what killed my seals

with compression test numbers like that...looks like 1 and 4 have possible broken ringlands

You want no more than 10% difference between the numbers. Drop some oil in on 1 and 4 and see if the numbers increase...if they do then your ringlands are toast

Also...start the car and take the oil cap off. if smoke comes out...motor rebuild time

Will do

Most likely going to be rebuild with how low the compression is

I would redo the compression test again just to make sure those are the numbers

When you do the comp test, floor it. That way the cylinders can actually get the air they need to accuratly display conpression.

Did you try adding a few drops of oils on those cylinders?

No, i got mad and put it back together and drove home. Going to be parking it and pulling the engine.

Should have it back running within a few months.

I'll document it and make a thread lol

well i would still do that test just to see if your rings are going. But if you have the money to replace stuff then go for it lol

If youre going to do a full build, let me know. I may be interested in the stock turbo parts if youre upgrading all that. I am only about an hour and a half- two hours from you.

all i have as far as stock turbo parts are upper, downpipe, and intercooler.

depends on my fianances next month i will most likely just do the zzp ready to go LNF rods and pistons.

also depending on the damage

i noticed this morning that the check engine light would flash a few times and then stop.

missfire?

Yes, flashing should just indicate massive misfires

Doesnt have to be random misfires but yes you have misfires and its letting you know by flashing that your cat could get damaged

yes, it is random.

if not it would specifically give a cylinder, for example 301 - cylinder 1, 302, cylinder 2....and so on.

Flashing CEL indicates misfire count exceeding a set number that can be damaging to the cat(I want to say it's 50 or 75) and that's total misfire so it could be a single or all cylinders

^^ that's what I mean to say, its a total of all cylinders not just 1. so its keeping count of all misfires random, not in sequence.
