and im thinking of things that a previous owner might have messed with. There was a time when people swapping to new k04s needed the waste gate adjusted or maybe a new turbo was put on that car before you got it and the wastegate needed adjustment. I dunno. Wastegate regulates the boost so I can see that being a cause for 10 psi. I can also see a turbo going bad being the cause as well but you would see and hear some things. It should be evident if your turbos bad.

Next question. And forgive me for asking, what fuel are you using? And someone already said it could be plugs as well, whats your mileage? Maybe think about changing the plugs. Doesnt account for the low boost but that could be the reason for missfires.

now people will say you should always use 93 octane with tunes. Id expect ZZP knows that not everyone can get 93 octane and make it safe for 91-93 octane. I try to use 93 always but I havent had an issue with 92 octane the few occasions I use it.

See if anyone chimes in about 91 octane possibly being the issue with the missfires. Have you contacted ZZP about getting the missfires? Maybe mention your only fuel source is 91 octane and what is their recommendation for fuel with their canned tune?

just checked the ZZP LNF ECU on their site. They do have a spot to mark what octane you use under "fuel used". When you ordered this, what did you write in there? hopefully not just "premium".

yea it may not be the reason but its a possibility, Im just throwing some ideas around. If you have 60k miles on the car, id change the spark plugs. Make sure to use the pre-gapped OEM ones. Nothing fancy.

It has 93K on it when I bought it. Too many miles for me but it was a older guy in his late 40s early 50s and I got a good deal on it. I'm gunna change the plugs see what happens

It's like you think we can diagnose your car over the internet with very little info?

You have no way to datalog anything and give us almost useless information.

Multiple people have told you that you had issues before the mods and they should of been fixed first. A canned tune will make bigger problems on an already broken car.

Everything points towards old issues/ parts installed incorrectly.

Im betting he doesnt have the original ECU so he's probably stuck down the path he took. If you had a boost leak that bad, you would have thrown a CEL by now. usually within 10 minutes max of romping on it. The fuel trims would drift so bad negative that the car would go into safe mode and you would have no boost.

You need a way to check fuel trims, datalog the car. Find someone local with HPtuners or get a gauge that can at least look at the info.

Wisconsin is near Ohio right? take a trip to ZZP and see if they can datalog your car and help you solve this. Still find out what fuel they tuned you for. If they tuned you for 93, and you run 91, you could still get missfires depending on how aggressive the tune is.

If you think it might be a boost leak, build a boost leak tester, spray soapy water (dawn dish detergent + water in a spray bottle) all over the charge pipes, and vac lines, and where there is any connection, look for bubbles. If you dont want to build a boost leak tester, take off the charge piping and intercooler and inspect them. Check the bypass valve for a torn diaphragm check to make sure there are no loose vac lines or tears in them.

Frankly it would be easier to datalog and see if the fuel trims go super negative or super positive. Also if you get a CEL, get the code and see what it says.

I've been talking to ZZP on the deal. Waiting to see what they say today. I'll get it figured out. We got a few ideas. Again I appreciate all the responses CudaJoe
