It ran like pretty crappy.
Its a lot better now with your tune, more proggressive.

Once the issues are ironed out we can go for a punch in the gut midrange.

I rented a compression test kit and that thing must be broken.
Disabled the injectors and coils and got 124 145 70 90, and totally different numbers each time I tested each cylinder.
The second time it was 10p 160 130 174 etc.

I put the pcv system as back to stock as I can at the moment and it stopped smoking.
Just puff of black smoke at high boost which is good atm since its getting dialed in.

I am going to hold off on a few things until I the compression tested with another gauge. Time to go to harbor freight.

I want to say the gauge is bad because the numbers were totally different each time.
I will get a gauge and try again.

Powell Race Parts has some really nice people working there.
Very helpful.

We will be doing some work on the motor to check its current status.
If it needs a new block it will get replaced with an LDK block, factory rods but with Wiseco Pistons.

Put the PCV system back to stock using off the shelf parts at an auto store. Its not perfect but the smoking did stop. The check valve on there is not the greatest but I am waiting on a high quality one to be delivered today.

Picked up a cheap compression gauge at harbor freight and got 120 or a couple points off 120 in each piston. The gauge has a rubber hose and has complaints that it expands during compression thus giving low numbers.

The pressing issue now is getting the STFT in check.
Has heavy swings in each direction at idle.

EDIT
smoking came back exactly as before but this time the pcv is back to stock.
Bought a real compression gauge and got 150 150 154 140 and pulled some of the top end and everything looked fine.

Looks like the turbo is no good, doesn't smoke at idle, car doesn't miss, no smoke at regular driving and anytime the turbo is building boost its blowing blue smoke. My cat is full of oil.

At the end of the day its wasn't the turbo.
The return line that came with the kit didn't fit properly in the block.
It had side to side play and oil will just pour out of it at higher pressure. Looking back from inside the car it was just a cloud of smoke that I figured was out the exhaust.

Putting a larger O-ring made no difference as it still had play. Ended up using RTV and just bathing the thing with it to stop the leak. The smoking and oil loss stopped at this point.

Also the PCV in the intake manifold was bad and replaced but this made no difference on how the motor ran. Issue at the moment is extreme STFT swings, its -29 at one point an +29 on the other. Doesn't cold start an a idle that stumbles like clockwork. Going to try replacing the Maf and Purge so see if anything changes. Once this is fixed we can get back to tuning.

Not sure how you have the BPV line hooked up, but I was just having idle/off throttle/low load and this seems to have cured it for me (EFR6758 on a Solstice) -

How to fix ZFR returning to idle stall or stumble

Wow been here for 3 years and this is your first post :P

I have mine going from the intake manifold.
Put the oem maf sensor and a freind put together a new intake and it is better now.

I sent some logs to KMO43 to see if its stable enough to start turning off the ramp.

Who's oil return fitting did you use Sev? Most kits that have come my way, the oil return fittings fit like absolute crap. I always ultimately just end up using the stock fitting and 5/8" oil/fuel line. Works great and never leaks a drop. Plus it looks a HELL of a lot cleaner than gobbing on a bunch of rtv.

The fitting came with the WR-2 kit and it was way off.
Ended up with a bigger Oring and tons, tons of rtv in order for it to work.

Yep.. I recently did a wr-3 kit for a customer where the return line fitting was, let's say, less than desirable. It's a nice looking fitting, but it doesn't seal for crap. I've just come to the point of reusing the stock fitting for any turbo swaps on a lnf.

Maybe it's doing it's own version of a leakdown if there is oil in the cylinder.

It was the gauge.
Bought a gauge and it's been consistent.

Honestly I think a 6258 would be a lot of fun especially if you didn't want to rev to the moon. Quick spool so more power in the low/midrange and still flows enough to make good power up top. Would be a great controllable 425hp setup to make the car more usable in 3rd gear. I may have to look into this at some point. Let us know how you like it.

I would think you chose wisely. I bet it will have gobs of it with as fast as it should spool. Glad you can run bigger tires than a cobalt can.

It's a different world driving a kappa with something like a 6758, 2871 or wr-2 (6258) vs a cobalt. If I wasn't so uncomfortable driving those cars I'd pick one up in a heartbeat. They're just way too damn tight for my liking. As a track car though, that makes them fantastic.

The one the car now I got from zzp but it has the pwerks exhaust housing.
The other I got from Pwerks but its just a supecore.
The k04r its from turbobay with the upgraded wastegate.

The kappas are awesome on circuit tracks, or the twisties and having lots of bottom end torque makes them better. Not the best on the straights, not the best gearing and less aerodynamic than a door but fun nonetheless

I might be hitting you up on that ko4r if I need to replace mine. I hope in 2 weeks or so my new car will be ready and I can finally stop using my Balt and I can take it apart for better inspection
