To me the turbo sounds horrible, I've been told it's throwing black smoke and my bumper is showing signs that it's throwing smoke. When I was tuning I was getting kr after the first pull etc

Double check the color of the smoke.
Black smoke is not really a big deal while it's getting dialed in if you aren't missing. It should show up in the logs as well.
I have a lot of black smoke.

Do you have a video of the noise

So was the turbo bad straight from turbo bay? Or are you thinking something else is wrong and the turbo just aggravated it? Didn't you buy the turbo brand new? Because I thought Matt had some kind of warranty on them.

Nah, my issue was **** parts and my lack of knowledge of these motors pcv system.
I wouldn't consider black smoke a problem at wot while tuning.

If its not during wot and you are sure its black then the problem should be really visible in the logs.
Maybe there is a injector sticking or really bad missfire.

I was having misses at max boost, gaped the plugs to 31 today no more missfire.
Also how much kmock are you getting

Setup your scanner like so and see what is knocking.
It will help you diagnose the issue.

then try to see if its real knock, take timing off, if you are brave add timing to see if it get worse.
also try a different plug gap. Try 32 or 30
Mine only likes 32 for some reason.

Mine as well but I made a few changes to show more info.
I have a data logger in my cars radio that logs the same thing as those tables. Maybe something you may want to look into once you get yours dialed in.

Somehow, someway the oil return fitting that goes on the turbo broke around the bend.
Hopefully zzp has them so I can try one of theirs.

So Carlos fixed all of his issues and she's running great!! I'm gonna pull a bit of boost it was a steady 30psi and on 93 that's a bit much I'd rather get some timing in her

We swapped to E47 and cranked the spool up and lost a ton of fuel pressure so we're going back to a HPFP friendly tune. I'm waiting for another guy to install his lobe then I'm gonna do that LNF fuel thread I have a lot to share

I would do the cam but I'm hesitant of getting the timing right. Small block Chevy or mopar and I would wouldn't have a problem with it.

The cam is really easy to do just remember to turn the engine over by hand a couple times to help the tensioner get the slack out

Also the tensioner guide side should have slack when you install the tensioner bolt so it helps get most of the slack out.
