F40 6 speed conversion

this from zzp and one have any other info does it seem like a good idea dont know much about six speeds

i thought the reason they didnt go six from the factory was the low end torque burning up the transmissions

Why? People miss the point, 1-4 are way better ratios for acceleration.

How is traction with this? How difficult was the swap I'm conteplating doing this when my clutch gives... Any track time comparisons?

I don't have it in yet, I am waiting on a couple things to complete this years build. Traction is going to be very similar, install will be negligibly more difficult then a normal clutch job. I don't think anyone has tracked it yet.

^ precisely why I didn't go with the 6 speed. I was waiting to see you beat on it at the track lol. I'm sticking with the 4.45 for now.

cant wait for miller to get his i wanna know more about the performance of this tranny i always thought a extra gear would be **** on my commute everyday

In my opinion, this is an awesome upgrade especially for high HP motors, I just got mine done last week, I got my driveablitly back, the shifting is so much smoother. From what I remember, Matt at ZZP launched around 700hp and broke the engine mounts, so as far as this transmission being able to hold up, there should be no worries there. To me, this gave me my car back, so much more fun to drive and will be taking out to the road coarse this summer to put it to the test.

More info!!! I'm ready to make my purchase of either the F40 or the 4.45 F35! Somebody has to have some better pros/cons on this!

yea shythe snake has one, He was the first other than ZZP. I forgot about Matt runnin at the track but he did and broke the tranny mounts.

he made over 600. Prolly don't live there daily but the tranny can take a lot more abuse.

From what heard from Tim, this is a very good option.
The couple things I don't like about the 4.45 for a DD standpoint are: it is very noisy and secondly my water temp was alot warmer when I am cruising at 80+mph vs at 60-70mph. The jump is as high as 10 degrees. My rev was nearly 3400 rpm and do that on a long trip. Not a big deal but still.
Someday I will make the switch but not until I am first added more mods.
