Had it on for quite some time now and it's great. The only thing I don't like is I'm into a flashy engine bay now so the stock look kind of sucks. I wish I would have gotten the K&N, but it's not because the ZZP isn't performing, it's just because my tastes has changed since march.

In all honesty I will probably never take it off.
well if u wanna sell it......lol

Perfect, thanks a lot chris. Do basically I cut It at that one spot and a screw is all that holds the piece back on?

Yes, the snorkel piece wedges inside the airbox neck pretty tight, so 1 screw does the job.

Yes, our silicone intake tube replaces the factory plastic intake tube with no other modifictations required. You can add the KN drop-in filter as well without needing to modify anything.

Can we get some videos of before and after sounds? I'm interested in doing this for 2 reasons. 1, i'm bored and 2, I wouldn't mind a relatively cheap mod to give my car a more aggressive sound.

x2 on my SS/TC. No change in overall sound that I could tell, maybe the BPV is a hair louder but no way would I be able to pick that out on another car.

I had this for awhile and let me say, the K&N is a hell of a lot louder, but if you want the stock look this is the way to go.

Just did this with the zzp intake tube, k&n drop in, and was able to squeeze a 3"spectre coupler for the modified snorkel. Very cheap mod, and it's been proven at the track by zzp.

Mine is held on by a drywall screw with the OEM foam gasket on the end, I should see about shoving a 3" coupler on there to make better use of the setup.

Yea, it was a real tight fit but I was able to squeeze it on. You can pick up a spectre 3" coupler at any advance auto parts for 8$.

Thanks, I'll see about that in the next week or 2. Does it fit on the end of the snorkel ok? IIRC it's smaller than the air box hole by 1/4". What are you using to hold it?

Yea, everything fits you just have to work with it. The spectre coupler comes with two clamps.

Hi all:

I know this is really old but I have searched everywhere and can't find much else out there about the airbox mod (for the turbo cars at least, though there seems to be plenty about the SCs), and ZZP still links to this thread for a how-to.

Is this still the way to go over a SRI or CAI? Does anyone have any pictures?

There isn't really an airbox mod for the LNFs, you can just remove the lower snorkel. If you're running a stock turbo the stock intake is fine for performance, go to a CAI or SRI if you want noise or if you're running a bigger turbo (6758 or larger)
