Is GMS1 really that shitty?
I raced the cobra last night, only lost by 1 car length. But I can feel the car pulling until I hit 5800 then it feels like i'm hitting a wall and I shifted at 6400.
I don't have any actually things to look at the way the car is running so I had to barrow my local shop's super expensive fancy scanner tool. I was able to bring up rpm, lambda, and stft. Stft was all over the place from -18 to 20. Lambda was from .95 to 1.05 driving around town and .95 to I think .87 at top end so I believe it's running on a GMS1 tune but hp tuned to turn off cat warmup and disable 2nd o2 sensor and codes. I don't know anyone locally with a hpt box to log and the closest person I know with one in in Tuscon almost 2 hours away.
I also beat a black LSJ with a ported eaton sc.

Y did u shift so late? Especially since u even felt it losing power already. U dont have to rev it all the way to the red line buddy, it doesn't have V-tec! Try shifting right at 6k rpm n u will be fine. Plus u have gms1 too so dont expect much from a cheap canned tune. FYI, gms1 was to keep ur warrenty... not help u beat a cobra.

I don't have a hpt box. Does it take credits to log a car? it is hp tuned to shut off cat warmup and turn off o2 sensor codes because there is no 2nd o2 sensor. A guy my buddy went to before for his mustang might have an hptbox that I could use to datalog but besides that I would have to find another cobalt owner in az or someone with it. 2nd closest person I know with a box is in Tuscon.
Someone bring area47 in here!

I dont think there is anything wrong with it my car is bone stock still and it loses power pretty noticeably around 5800-5900 k04 is a great low and mid range turbo it just lacks the size needed for high rpm operation and again gms1 is not a shitty tune it wont be as good as a decent hp tune but it will never be whats wrong with your car

i personaly like my GMS1 tune. the power drops off in higher RPM's. i thought this was common knowledge? You shouldn't have to rev it to the redline to make power.. it's not a honda and you aren't in the F&F movies.

The stock GMS1 tune has power drop off after 5500. The torque drops from 85% at 5500 to 70% at 6000. The power loss is consistant but at about 5800 you hit 10% torque drop off and that is probably why you start to feel it.
