Since I couldn't get an answer from anyone I left the broke plastic tip/top hat off and reinstalled everything. So far so go no issues.

Its good to see someone actually give an answer to there problem and not a dead thread ending in nothing.
I think it would change or mess up the spray pattern, So free bump if anyone else has experienced this.

Which injectors are those, I don't recall seeing that piece on the LSJ ones.
Having that piece on there would cause it to draw fuel from the middle of the rail instead of the bottom, so maybe they do it from factory to reduce chance of contamination? But it really won't affect anything.

Just following up on this. Mine were all broken also. At first I thought I did it but the next 3 I pulled I was super careful and they were broken as well. Car seems to run fine, but as 63 Nova says, why would they design them this way? Interestingly enough, the stock LNF injectors don't have the tips at all. I would really like to know why they are there and whet they do. I wonder how many people may have broken tips and not even know it? So far I'm not having any issues, I'm wondering some time later if all is still well?

Hello GoodSpeed,
We usually suggest that you don't use them after that because we have had customers and our own vehicles experience misfires at higher fuel pressures when the tabs are broken. We even went as far as to purposely break off the tabs on a set, try it, and then try ones with the tabs not breaking off.
While the vehicle may be drivable and mostly uneffected, it can cause issues higher up.
