I recently got a ss/tc with only 30,000 miles on it when I got it the turbo was quit and you couldn't really hear the spool but as the oil got older the spool became more noticeable, just got my oil changed it now has 33,000 miles on it and again the spool is very quit and I'm assuming as the oil gets older the spool will get louder. Is this normal? Is this because new oil is thicker than oil used oil? Or could it be something else? By the way it is all stock and after getting my oil changed and driving around a little and noticed the spool was barely noticed I got on it in 2nd gear and had the boost gauge up to 13 psi and 15 psi is the maximum I had it on stock everything so I don't think there is a boost leak, please let me know what you guys think, thank you. Also a side note I used a full synthetic valvelene oil 5w-30. I'm not sure what oil the dealership I got it from put in it.

I wouldn't think the oil would make a difference on how loud it spools.

If this were the case I would think your turbo has some play/degradation.

Is it possible? Maybe, but I wouldn't think noticeable.

Check your turbo inlet for shaft play.
