Hey guys, so my pads are starting to squeak and I can tell my rotors are getting wore down. So question is what brake pads and rotors would you recommend for my Lnf?

don't get the oem rears, they wear down real fast. get hawk rears. oem rotors and fronts though

Any reason not to get "better" pads? I look through some of our vendor's sites and there descriptions are terrible. How many different color pads are there? I don't know the difference and they don't tell you. I need front pads/rotors and rear rotors (dealership said new brakes in rear LOL they pad slapped **** rusted rotors). I don't remember the name of the rotors but I probably drilled/slotted with the painted black in the center.

It depends on what you want.


If I was on the track, OEM rotors and pads for the LNF with Hawk out back.

I dont track, so I got R1 slots and Powerstop EVO all around. Not as aggressive as stock, but I am fine with the less dust I wanted.

I bought a set of stoptech slotted and cryo treated for my DD'ing and it def helps with the initial pad bite in the rain

I must have the only lnf with working rear brakes 117k miles and theres still plenty of life left, or they don't work at all but either way i think adjustment on the ebrake and properly lubing everything has something to do with it

Same here. 88k no issues with the rear breaks. About to change them out soon tho just to make sure they stay working lol😎 did the brembos at 75k I think I might want to do a rebuild kit soon the boot for the piston was a grey color idk if I should change the boot or just rebuild the whole thing.

R1 slotted rotors with Hawk HPS pads has been a great setup for me, I like it much better than the stock stuff. Unless you track your car the benefits of the stock front pads will never be seen.

OEM pads are aggressive enough for street pads, IMO. You don't want to get too much more aggressive because the pads will be meant to operate at higher temps and they aren't as effective in normal street use. They wear your rotors more, too. I wouldn't bother with drilled rotors, either. They have less surface area and don't help with cooling. Slotted is what I'd suggest for tracking or autoX. If only for the street, plain rotors are the best.

Ah but the looks though! Even if its a "ricer" mod, I love the look of drilled and slotted rotors. Just found the R1 concepts there and am going to order those with pads.

I've been running drilled but not slotted r1 rotors for 2 years and they have done well. Look really good 2. I doubt I would track them due to concerns with cracking but street wise they have done great.

When it comes to braking power, it's impossible to beat OEM with any aftermarket rotors or pads, unless you go race pads.
I know not many people road race their cars, but blank OEM rotors are hands down the best under the worst conditions (road track)

Autozone rotors and Wagner thermoquiet pads.
You don't need to spend $500 on rotors and pads. I spent $250 for all four corners and I don't notice a difference.
