Vac no Boost

Alright guys, here it is.
1.I got a loud howl coming from under the hood that only "howls" as i watch the boost gage go from negative to just below 0. and does NOT build boost....when it should
2. have some white smoke coming out of the exhaust, smells like oil.
3. i have zzp charge pipe upper and lower and zzp IC and the connections were good.
4. at idle, no "howl" but on engine start-up with the higher idle get the louder "howl"
5. I'm not getting ANY misfires but getting the MAP sensor codes.

I'm guessing because the turbo was already leaking oil into the upper charge pipe(not much)
that the turbo has a broken impeller, letting this oil leak into the hot exhaust and burn out.

currently running zzp upper and lower charge pipes and IC 3inch exhaust, catless downpipe, no res, no muffler. and still rocking the K04 stock turbo at 25psi

i do NOT have a 3 bar MAP

only thing i can do i think at this point is just to take it into a shop to have it checked out unless you guys have insight into this issue.

thanks guys, take care

Prior to the howl did you hear a loud pop during a WOT pull?

Or is the howl like a metal on metal type?

can you get a video of it? It does sound like a screwed up turbo, but maybe it's something else.

Yes but the best time for a video would be tomorrow morning if you don't mind waiting. I still have to drive kids to and from school so the engine will be warm till then.

no intake? THe description of a "howl" sound from negative vac to 0 psi sounds like what a K&N intake makes normally.

I was gonna say lol. When I first heard that in my car, I also noted that it sounded kind of like metal grinding sound. I didnt realize that the howl was actually air sucking into the turbo through the intake. Had no idea it would be that loud. Coming from an N/A car with an intake, its completely different sounding. With that said and you saying you have a K&N intake, Id say the howl sound is not a symptom of your problem and is actually normal.

As for the no boost thing. Any CELs? What CELs do you have

Wow i have never heard that ever. Pretty creepy.

can you pinpoint the sound when you have the hood open?

Is it coming from the engine, turbo area?

Doesn't sound metallic in the video but it's hard to tell. Sounds like a giant ass boost leak at first.

Have you checked over all the piping and the intercooler for a coupler that has come off, or cracks in the chargepipes or intercooler endtanks?

If you had a power steering pump I would say you are out of fluid, that's the way it sounds to me. I haven't heard a boost leak that sounds like that so you may check the shaft play on the turbo like others have suggested.
