The 71 is not too big for the LNF. That is false it spools fast and makes great power

Word of warning, when I bolted my 7163 to my LDK's exhaust manifold, it didnt look like it was sealing on one side when I ran the nuts down. On closer inspection the turbo housing was making contact with the exhaust manifold preventing it from bolting up. It took a lot of on/off/on/off sanding and grinding off both the turbo and manifold to get a proper fit. Thank goodness the engine was out of car, I may not have seen the small gap at all and just torqued it down. My suggestion would be when installing the turbo in car, snug it lightly and look all around. If you have to grind its not that much more work to pull the manifold and do it outside the car so you can see and sneak up on the gap needed if you encounter the same issue.

you are missing the point of this discussion. a 60 lb a min turbo is a big ass turbo for a 2.0L. nobody says it doesn't work nor does it make good power.

If you were using the LDK exhaust manifold rather than the LNF, that might be the reason why since the LDK manifold is a little shorter.

Thanks I will have to remember that somehow. Hey Tom why don't you write this down to put in your "differences in lnf-ldk" thread you are going to do at some point.

Yes, thats it. Also the smaller manifold made my exhaust pipes tight as can be. I'm pulling off my poly hangers and going back to rubber. Hopefully that helps give it some breathing room.

It is. And others are throwing on the 257s. But being an EFR is spools fast and works very well on our car. It needs little to no ramp and will make more hp than the 67 that is why I recommend it

i just got my 7163 put in on my LNFand waiting on a tune.
Im FBO except 3" exhaust and BOV.
Stock internals and stock bottom end on GMPP clutch and LNF flywheel.

Currently at 100k mikes.
Would fueling be recommended next? Opels? Stage 2 cam?
how much can I make safely with boost ramp?

You can make around 480hp on E47. With that clutch you will need more of a ramp than I usually give to guys. I make 30hp with Stg2 cams and a ported head on .7psi less boost. I would go with a 5th over Opels. Opels have no gains at these hp levels the HPFP can not keep up.
