ZZP intake tube dyno results
My car -
08 SS with 35k miles
HP tune from Race Proven Motorsports
ZZP catless downpipe
ZZP intercooler
ZZP charges pipes
ZZP silicone intake tube
K+N drop in filter
.030 welding tip (aka pill mod) with reduced DAL to try and calm the boost spike.
The car is on a dynojet using SAE with smoothness of 5. All runs were done in 3rd gear.
The first pull is with the stock air intake tube in place and the air box snorkle off the car. The 2nd pull is with the zzp intake tube and the snorkle added back on the stock air box.
I'm more than happy with the intake tube as it's a pretty cheap upgrade and was worth close to 15whp and 15wtq after the peak numbers. The car is only running 10-12 degrees of timing down low with 14 degrees up top. Air intake temps were perfect run after run and the car was very repeatable.
Previous runs on the same dyno...
Stock 243whp and 234wtq - 13.5 at 104mph
HP Tune and K+N drop in - 291whp and 311wtq - 13.43 at 110.0mph
ZZP downpipe, charge piping, and intercooler plus welding tip mod - 310whp 366wtq
ZZP intake tube - 318whp 364wtq
This car has turned out to be one hell of a daily driver

Thanks for posting the results. It's nice to see our gains backed up in the field.
A retune is not required with this intake tube. The MAF tube is still the same and nothing is changed until further down-stream so the MAF readings are barely altered if at all.

Well my situation is a little bit different. I bought a ecu with Trifecta and byt combo tune and made the mistake of sending it in to zzp. Maybe not mistake because I am happy with my zzp tune but I hear that the tune was powerful and great and sometimes I feel like I made a mistake.
Anyway im happy with my tune and I have a spare pcm so im not worried about it. I recommend getting the spare pcm. I have a spare and the few others here with zzp did the same.
I can't imagine you not being happy with it.

oh then for sure get the tune, the difference between stock and zzp for me was unreal. Get the intake tube as well and your engine bay will look stock to anyone not familiar with the platform. I'd even say that zzp cp looks pretty stock too.

I have one of the AEM elbows and may consider an upgrade if I can determine what combination of elbow/filter/snorkle works best with GMS1/dp. Noticed you reinstalled snorkle and was curious why. I've heard it helps produce better MAF readings(air straightener) and w/o a custom tune or scanning device I'm inclined to leave it alone-seems to be working for you.
