Cai
Well I finaly finish my "CAI" . Bought a K&N e-1009 filter, had my installer at work cut off my factory filter box right below the sensor and he then shaved the tubing so the filter would fit like a glove right on it. If anyone is ok with doing something like this it is well worth it. I know on past theads people said the SC screams but guys, it F---in' screams. I got heads turning now as I roll down the street. It is well worth the $65 and it , for the most part, is a CAI just with out an aluminum tube. Very easy to get to and remove and well worth it......

Are you getting any CEL lights yet? From what I've read of other people trying this they would get a CEL light and the car would hesitate a little when they got on the throttle. Post some pics so we can see if you did anything different from what they did.

ok yes I did notice some power difference , let me refrase that, I notice that it's response was quicker. I was originally going to just drop the filter in the factory filter box in the wheel well but when you actually look at the way the box is designed, it look very restrictive. So what I did was took the tube off from the top section pulled it through the hole had my installer cut right below the sensor he then shaved it down so the air filter would mount perfectly on the end. I really don't think you will get as much sound "performance" by just dropping a filter in the factory box.
I am telling you guys this, it really makes heads turn and am proud to say that people ask me about my SS all the time now. If anyone is ever in the Brigatine NJ area you will here me zip by. Unfortunatly I did not take any pics so sorry guys. It basically sounds like that dude that took video of his before with his "CAI" Oh and yes it is worth the $60 better than spending $300 + for a CAI when it comes out.
Now the only thing left to do is race my installer who has a str ehehhehe.

Have not had any problems and it has been 2 days. Oh and my installer has a srt not str I am not that stupid. I will say that you have to make sure that the tube is shaved down nice and tight cause if there is any loose connection on the filter, it will hesitate . I know from just taking the whole filter off and revin' it up for a second last week before I did this.
