GM STAGE KITs FAQs - Read Me First!
#301
Wether or not you install the header or exhaust and do the reflash first or last it will still come to the same final answer. It is a basic tune unlike the Intense or simliar kits where you can "dial in" mods. The GM tune is more of a general tune.
Your other question on if the GMPP parts will void your warranty, the answer is no they will not. GM is releasing them after doing many tests before release on many different aspects of the parts. That would be similar to a new food company having to go thru the Food and Drug organization before releasing their product to the company they make sure it will not effect anything negatively.
Still feel free to ask the tech these questions. Its nice to know what knowledge the person has that will be working on your car. You might find that like in my case your the first one at the dealership to be doing a stage kit and they might not be as knowledged as a tech who has done this a time or two before. But it still cannot hurt to ask. If you feel your questions are getting the run around or are not satisfied with the answers I would strongly consider taking it to another dealership.
There have been stories here on css.net of techs telling people their warrantys would be void and whatnot. These are the people you do not want to work on your car.
In the end I hope all works out for you and all your questions are answered to your satisfaction. Let us know how things go for you!

yea thats what ive been considering in doing. but its hard to find a shop around where im from to trust into doing it. i think i might have to take a trip up to houston. i mean im sure i could install the parts, just need somewhere to get a good tune. and thats hard to find where i am located at, and especially for a good price

Ask other members in your area. You will find a good dealer to get it installed for a fair price. (Make sure they have done these in the past, experience makes all the difference in the world)

hey, i have an 07 with stage 2 from GM. is it possible they did the pulley & injectors and forgot to reflash the ECU, because i recently did the airbox mod and i keep throwing CELs. Everything else is stock. had the car for about 2 months and i doubt anything else is wrong. Is there a way to know if they reflashed the ECU or not?

hey guys is the max on the stock 6500 rpm . It seems like I hit the rev limiter at 6850or maybe it hits the rev limiter so hard that I don't notice that it hits 7000.
When you disconnect the battery does it reset itself back to the stock flash?

gn - yeah that intake cel seems to be a pain in the ass all over the forums for cobalts.
sc07 - it shouldnt break in, what rpm are you seeing the 13 at? it wont hit full boost at lower rpms. try it at 4th in a higher rpm and let us know what it reads.
When i first picked up my car at the dealership it only ran 3 pounds. I had to get a boost sensor replaced and then it ran fine.
Bcobaltss. Yes the stock is 6500 rpm. You have the gm stage 1 as in your sig right? Im not very knowledgeable on the stage 1 unfortunitly. It more than likely its 7k but just hits it so quick that it jumps back down im guessing? not intirely sure.
When you disconnect the battery it resets to the latest tune you had done it wont go back to "stock" tune, your good to go.

OK so I 'm going to purchase the Stage 3 PCM and I want to know from anyone that has purchased it and used the 100octane mode is. How much fuel of 93 octane do you have to have in the tank left in order to put 100 octane in and switch to 100octane mode and have it not default to 93 mode. Because the PCM detects the 93 octane untill the 100goes through? Do I have to have the tank on low fuel next to empty before putting 100octane in in order for it to work or not. I'm planning on taking it to the track and afraid of sticking the 100 octane only to have the PCM default to the 93 mode because I have too much of the 93 left in the tank. OR does it not work that way?

Stage 3 PCM ordered today$ 411.57. I thought after I had it shipped from CED it would cost the same any way. They said it should be there by the end of the week. I'll let you guys know how it does at the track and how the 100 octane feels.

Well just installed the stage 3 PCM and seeing the RPM go to 7250 was pretty cool. The tune seems more agressive. I was not able to try the 100 octane mode yet becasue I have 3/4 tank of 93 left . But once that is gone I'm getting 5 gallons of the 100 unleaded to try ou the mode. The only thing that was kinda a pain was no instructions for install. Yea it's plug and play with just taking off the battery negative and reinstalling once the install is complete. Bu the intake is kind in the way from pulling one of the connectors completely out so I had to push the fuse box backward to get it out and there is tabs that hold the PCM in plce at the bottom of the plactic housing that you have to pry downward to ge the PCM out. I took me 25 minutes to do with taking the battery negative off then back on. I did not go over the 7250 becasue they say you should not unless you have the springs and neutral balance shafts.
The tune seems more agressive , the shifts feel smoother and I can hear more popping through the gas as if it is dumping more fuel.
As for me running juice for the Stage 3 system..... yes it is a possibility but that will not happen until next year when my warranty is up.
Now it's track time. I'll post my time when I get doen with the traclk on the 23 of this month in the official 1/4 mile thread. Read how I did in the war stories against a new porshce convertible.

I have got the Stage 3 ,pieced together not all at once
The wireing did not come with the harness that it calls out for the Nitrous hook up . It does not even show a photos for it on CED's website so I doubt they even give it to you when you ge the kit.
It does come with the instructions for the hook up for the nitrous but it is just a wiring diagram not a step by step process of where to hook lines into to make it work although I bet once you buy your nitrous system it will show. FNFAST has already done this but he needs to do a how too. But I think he said his dealership installed this for him . He stil should take some photos of under the hood of how it's hooked up.
Yes the only traction mod that have is the ingalls but the intense trans poly mounts go in sometime this week.

youll be happy with the tranny mounts, I dont have a TD, but I have TTR motor mount, and CA poly trans bushings in billet mounts and not one bit of wheel hop. just spin. :-) very well worth it for stock ss/sc's but even more beneficial when you do stage2/3 plus mods like myself, yourself, and many others on here
