Safe to resleeve an LSJ?
I've got an LSJ with some pretty severe scouring in the #1 cylinder wall from a ring. My local machinist told me he's had issues resleeving ecotec's in the past, he mentioned one guy had it done and 6 months later he was getting his oil & antifreeze mixing.
Is there any truth to this? If not, what is my best bet for new sleeves...OEM or another brand? This will be about a 300 hp build.

Wet sleeves have cavitation problems when the piston fires the coolant on the other side collapses with air bubbles ( cavitation) and can cause damage to the sleeve over time I know this happens with all sleeves just wondering if your sleeves have had problems with this

I would like to purchase the sleeves just one more question do they fill the coolant galley at the head? With room for coolant to get by Do they look just like darton ?

No, ZZP used to sell a block with essentially a welded in block guard, still had issues with the stock sleeves and other problems. Use the thicker Mr. B sleeves, or go with a newer closed deck block.
PROPERLY TUNED, a stock LSJ can make 500whp, so the sleeves/block aren't bad. Most failures are tuning/setup issues.
