InfraRedline's all out turbo and build thread
UPDATE!!! 12/27/13 - Post 121 - Pictures
As some of you may know I purchased another redline late this summer. That now has the motor from my red 05 in it with a stock blower for my winter/daily. What does that mean? Well the motor that was in the car I bought will be going into the red one along with tons of other goodies! I will also be swapping to turbo as I had planned for a while.
As of these recent Black Friday sales I have everything I need to get the car running!
Here is what the build consists of:
The motor: Complete with 2700 miles on it
ZZP Gen 3 Girdled 2.1
Carrillo rods
JE 9.5:1 pistons
ZZP NBS
ATI Turbo balancer
Ported head
Supertech springs and retainers
ZZP S2 Turbo cams
Trans:
ZZP F40 6-speed conversion
Power Adder: Got most of this with the car.
ZZP Turbo kit for redline with upgrades
Bullseye S259et
Precision 44mm WG
Charge piping with 3.5" MAF housing
ZZP BMFIC (big muffuckin intercooler )
All charge pipes v-banded
TTR intake manifold
Fuel system I have now:
Ottp RSFS w/Aeromotive FPR & stainless lines
Injector Dynamics 1000cc's (may replace with ARM's FIC 1200's)
Walbro 255 (will be replaced with AEM 320 E85 specific pump)
I also snagged an oversized aluminum radiator from ZZP since I had to use the one from the 05 in the 07 due to the 07 having a crack in it.
I'll post up some pics soon and more as the trans, turbo, and radiator come in! Gonna pull the LSD 4.05 trans and Centerforce Dual Friction clutch out and put it for sale this week, then when my parts come in I'll get to work putting everything in the car. I plan to have it running sometime in January to make sure everything is working condition and work out any bugs, then I will take the intake mani and charge piping off for paint.
I also plan to get some coilovers in spring, but that can wait.
The goal for now is to go until the fuel system maxes out, which I am thinking will be around 550whp, but that depends on which injectors I end up running and how far the single pump takes me.
Right when I pulled the motor in October. Kept the nice white pearl valve cover out of harms way for this
How it sits now
2.1 waiting for its time...soon enough

I actually told Blue you would be saying that lol. Hey there are 2 of them in my shop, and only one being used now days. However, I don't have the fueling to even come close to maxing the 259 out, so why would I go bigger? I do agree that the 6262 is a great turbo, but I am not at that point yet. 62 lb/min will do fine for me. To each their own.
I know, been busy! Need to clean up a bit and take some moar pics. I'll post what I have today if I get a few mins.
