pics of plugging supercharger holes

hello my fellow coby's since the sticky
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/eaton-superchargers-modification-guide-95307/
i have been wanting to plug the sc ports now knowing that there are no myth's about iat2's rising and other bs, so heres what i used

make sure you clean the area with brake cleaner it will ensure that it sticks good

then turn rotors to were you can get your fingers in to make sure the quicksteel dosent go in the housing. and be sure to spin before it hardens (5min) and wipe excess off rotor blades ther should be minimal amount on blades...

here is the finished product

if the whole heat rising theory is just a myth, then why does stiegemier HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you don't close the holes up cause of heat?

i have a feeling those holes were put there for a reason. I doubt they would take the time to drill 2 holes in a supercharger, if they were pointless. I would not recomend doing this, unless you don't care about your warrenty, or you want to take the rise of blowing your SC.

it's alredy been proven it doesnt change IAT's... it's called the search button NOOB theres a whole thread about it

plus if ur worried about the IAT's then port the damn thing, they dont port the silencer holes so whats their use? to make the SC quieter..

I've searched and found no HARD evidence that it doesn't raise IAT's. Care to share your search?

Ralliartist go to the top of the 2.0 section and read the SC Modification guide. Has quotes direct from Eaton.

direct quote frm the sticky Ralli:

Air Leakage Ports:

The two oval slots on the output plate are air leakage ports. Their only purpose is to decrease operational noise from the blower. Arnie, from Eaton Corp., explains their function like this, "When you stomp on the gas, the boost shoots up and the air flow goes supersonic. The air then slams back into the output plate and through the leakage slots, which reduces the hammering of the air into the housing causing less noise. The OEM can not have such loud NVH, that’s why we put them in the housing. The 2 small ports are not there to feed air, only to reduce noise." Basically, for the best flow and most efficiency, these ports can be blocked off, making the outlet port (triangle slot) the only port on the outlet plate of the housing. Closing these ports will not increase IAT's; however, it will make the supercharger much louder when in boost. As an example, aftermarket supercharger companies, such as Harrop, Roush and Magnuson do not use these slots in their blowers. It should be re-stated, that you should consult professionals regarding closing these ports; and do not, for any reason, plug them with JB Weld. Improper closure could eventually lead to pieces coming apart and loose debris destroying the rotors and housing. Opening up these ports will only have a negative effect on efficiency. Do not port them.

now please take a

Enjoy!

Well, that is good info to know, I'm just wondering why stiegemier says that you'll lose power cause of heat if you block those holes off.

uhh sigh..........rallyartist i posted the link for everyone to read... its ok we all make mistakes (its at the top of the thread it says link) ohh sorry i think somone al ready did for me i didnt read page two before posting my bad

video is in the making

well some might say theres is just as loud REMEMBER this is on a 3" pulley i WILL make video's tomorow of 2.8 and less beating on my stock clutch lol but 12k and 260hp+ to the tire and she's still going strong...

in the car
http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/g...t=100_3633.flv

out side
http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/g...t=100_3634.flv

watching the video i do belive on the first one i hit rev limiter due to tire spin and shifted a little early, the clutch tried to do its job releasing a chirp from the tires but then the tires caught and the clutch slipped...

second time i tried to time the 2nd gear to end right after the camera but still didnt make it and had to contemplate on shifting or not so i missed third lol i guess im more of a performer when im under pressure cause ive never missed third while doing no lift shifting during street racing... he he street racing its so much funner than the track... imo

Some people would put a tuna sandwich under their hood if they heard someone else did it for more hp.
