Rebuild Questions.

So im pretty sure i have messed up piston in my car. the number 4 is only pulling about 60lbs of compression. I'm curious as too if i should take it to a shop or just buy a girdled block from zzp and build one that will handle more power. If im gonna build it how i want then i was gonna ask for some recommendations. cause after i get the motor running again im prolly gonna go with the zzp turbo swap kit. Thanks in advance for any help.

Take it apart and see how bad it is. Looking at the ET in your sig needing a motor that can handle more power wasn't why it went down. Best to figure that out first.

Buy stock LSJ and replace. If you plan on building the car more then what's stated in your sig then look at a built block.

I just recently purchased a blown up lsj. As I already have an lsj, bought another to fix up. I had an idea that it was a blown piston ring, and it ended up being a lot more than I thought. It's always good to tear down and make sure you know what the actual problem is.

Lol kdub's statement still stands. Stock motor isn't even working hard with those mods.

Did you also do a leak down test?

I have similar mods at 334,000 miles.

If it'll only make 60psi, it's more than likely a busted piston. A leakdown isn't even worth it. I would pull the head, pull the pistons, verify damage, and go from there.... If block/sleeves are good, then i'd throw a new(used) piston in it and maybe even the other holes if you want, depending on comp numbers on them cylinders... then drive the car and have fun with it.... then later on when you're ready to do a build, buy another block to build while you're still driving the car.
