Cool TVS 1900 Blower

Why doesn't anybody run TVS 1900 blowers? I feel like there would be more SS/SC going over 400whp if they used it.

It's been more than once. Use the search button and you'll find the data you are looking for.

People don't use it because its such an easy, direct bolt on option. No supporting mods or extensive work needed at all.

just slap it on and make towards 500 wheel. Easy.

I have been using this "SEARCH" button read many pages with little to no info. So if you could be so kind and not use the stereotypical "Just Use The Search Button" comment that seems to be everybody's go to when not knowing the info themselves I mean how hard is it to tell me what you know. Because I don't believe you could find any data if you tried as well because half of the pages are people fighting with one another.

The search button from here isn't the best. You need to use Google then just add cobalt ss that gets you better results. My guess it's people don't want to spend the money on it. Don't really know much about superchargers tho

I think at that price point I would just say screw it and go with a turbo swap, way more potential.

1320 is actually a very good blower for the lsj, just need higher compression pistons, cooling
and headwork

I wouldn't suggest the TVS1320 to any of my friends looking for serious hp. the turbo way obviously is the best way to go. I mean on the dyno form not 1 TVS1320 made over 400whp without nitrous. I would go the turbo way but I love the simplicity of superchargers. I want 450whp to beat my 300zx swapped with a RB25DET.

There is nothing wrong with the tvs 1320 option. It's probably the best power upgrade option for the ss sc.
IF your looking for mid 300whp and a great power band. If you want more it's easier to go turbo. 400-500whp is more easily attainable.
You really have to build your engine and push it to take full advantage of a tvs but those who do are rewarded with a hell of a lag free power band.

Most larger than 1320 supercharger upgrades are foregone for two reasons.
1) they aren't just a bolt on option and require fabrication and the cost gets astronomical for the gains very quickly vs turbo
2) asking a 2.0 to spin a blower that large is asking allot.

Here's literally one minute of my time....

http://www.*************/forums/6-pe...ge=1&_k=9qi2d4

*I don't know why the link keeps putting stars there but take them out and put cobalt ss.com in place for the link*

Back in the day 100%METH and Euthanasia played with both the TVS 1900 and MP90. If you do some digging you will find their experiences. Basically back then the gains over a 1320 were minimal to nothing. As time and builds have evolved, ways to make more power have come but so far nothing on paper with a 1900 has been better than a 1320.

the 1320 is a badass blower

wrong you do not need higher compression slugs you do not need head work does it help sure but a not needed and you do not need cooling that's another helps but don't have to have all you need is injectors and tuned

I always suggest a tvs over a turbo ill take my low low 12s tvs over a barley making it into the 13s 500hp turbo swap anyday

you do not have to really build the engine to take advantage of the tvs people have made north of 350hp on it with just basic stuff on a stock engine you should at least put rods and pistons in a turbo swapped car because of how it builds cylinder pressure

the sad thing about most turbo swapped lsj cars are they are not that fast they are lucky to to be in the 13s ill take my low low 12s powered tvs anyday

i bought the TVS 1900 in the OTTP group buy i bought the blower with the 3.5 inch pulley the supercharger bolts up to the manifold perfectly you just need to use studs instead of bolts the bolts hit the supercharger running the 3.5 inch pulley was huge so it would hit the radiator support you have to cut it to make it fit with that big of a pulley i ran that pulley because i was on a stock enternals i also needed to run the return style fuel system i also bought from OTTP i sadly i never got it numbers i regret not getting a good tune on it it now has a blown head gasket and i'm in the middle of trying to fix it or just go built and i'm strongly thinking going built so i can drop pulley sizes but this car was a rocket i was hitting 25 pounds of boost at a mile high don't know how much this helps but i loved going to the tvs 1900

This was very helpful did OTTP suggest that pulley or did you just figure it out?

3.5 inch pulley was the largest pulley i could buy for it i wanted to have the smallest amount of boost possible to try and conserve my stock engine while i saved up for a built one from zzp something i decided i wanted to do josh was deff a lot of help with all of my different questions i had and i knew it wouldn't last forever stock internals can't handle it however i am planning on doing a built 2.4 instead of 2.0 cause this blower is huge lol there isn't a lot of blower noise running this size pulley but you can still hear it but it's nothing like the M62 or the 1320 i do have every cooling mod that i know of on this setup as well dual pass option b zzp stealth and the front mount heat exchanger car is full bolt ons lasted about 6 months of driving it pretty hard cause it was just a monster can't imagine if you went down on pulley sizes and went built car would be scary so that's what i plan on doing

Guys this isn't about the 1320, it is about the 1900. Running a 1,9L blower which is 95% the size of the engine totally makes sense, because it essentially provides you with the powerplant of a medium sized V-6 and then becomes capable of V-6 #'s (mercury cougar, anyone?).

I ran a 1900 before and was very pleased with the results, making 643whp on a camaro dyno. 37psi. #wiiiiiinningggggg
