car has actually been holding up well, ran it at pocono a few weeks back and was trapping 147mph off nitrous (another roll event)
ta is finally out of the garage after a year of sitting and starting to finish it up...... hopefully lol
good to see some progress as always, and good decision with the holley, that's what I"m using in my trans am to control, well everything. it's awesome

I have also been looking at turbos and I'm heavily leaning towards getting 2 of the Garrett GTX3584RS. I know there's cheaper options but go big or go home right? I've banked the cost of one and I should be able to buy the pair by March. 7.50 seconds here I come
Now if the engine builder would put my motor together. I really hope to be running by the end of summer.
Paul, do you have a thread somewhere for the TA?

Christmas present arrived
I got back to town (from work) yesterday and I went and picked up my Christmas present to myself. I buy some of my best presents
Now I will have to try and find a buyer for my Bigstuff3 setup.

That's being real patient
I was down at the engine builders today handing over another $2K. The engine will finally be built with the expectation of it being on the engine dyno mid - late March. The blower likely won't be bought until after the engine is done but that depends on work. It's looking like there be a lot of OT after new years so I'm optimistic. After the drivetrain is done my next hurdle is the front fenders/clip because with the wheelbase stretched 1.5 inches the wheels don't line up with the openings.

As of right now this add-on for firefox makes browsing forums with photobucket issues much more pleasant as it allows the images to load like they should. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...fixer/?src=api

I'm planning on using a Vortech V-7 YSi-B
Another guy using the same engine builder used it on his LS race engine and it will work for my goals as well. The thought had been turbos but this blower allows me to enjoy the V8 sound as well as meet my power needs.

I hear you on the cars being on the back burner, I haven't touched my car in 2 years (since my brother died) but now it's time to get this done. I would really like to get your feedback on the holley. I'm considering pairing the ECU to a racepak.

yeah man I"m still lurking as usual lol.
I plan on finishing up both cars this spring (plan is the key word there hahaha).
but definitely will let you know how it all goes. I've been messing around with the software and just getting a base tune and some launch stuff set up. but dying to try it out on the street/track this summer.

I was down at Richmond Engines again yesterday and I'm dumping my Dart heads in favor of getting heads specifically for my block which means 6 bolts/cylinder. I have been hesitant about selling the Dart heads considering they are completely done and ready to be bolted on. The decision obviously means taking another hit as I'll never get what I have in to them but I'd rather have the additional clamping power the new heads offer.
I had looked at the GM LSX performance heads but the engine builder has seen these fail on other motors people have brought in to his shop. The suggestion he made is to go with the Brodix LSX LS7 heads. That means a few other parts change as well including the complete valve train/rocker arms/intake manifold.

yeah I know you do lol.
damn, but 6 bolt heads are definitely a good choice if you're going to be running some "man" boost.
sucks that everything else is going to have to change.
did you look into texas speed? I know they have some reasonable 6 bolt heads that you can probably keep your valve train.

My engine builder is going to pair up a 6.0L bottom end with my Dart heads and intake/manifold and then run it on the dyno so we can sell everything as a complete engine. I should be able to get a better price for my parts than if I try to sell them separately online.
I'm all set to have the engine built by the end of June as the money is now in the bank. Between now and them I am hoping work stays really busy as the money for the power adder is my next goal. I'm still debating if I go with a twin turbo or a Vortech supercharger.

I am awaiting for the approval for an extra on a job that I'm working on and if this 'extra' is approved it will cover the cost of my forced induction setup. I won't get any days off for at least two months but I'll be happier than a pig in, well you know what I mean.
I will get confirmation first thing Thursday morning.

I am looking at this kit from JEGS https://www.jegs.com/i/Vortech/933/4GE218-120/10002/-1
with the V7 Si trim. I was talking with them yesterday to see if I could upgrade the compressor to the V7 YSi - B one. Once I'm ready to commit JEGS will call Vortech and see about the upgrade which shouldn't be an issue as the kit is only ordered from Vortech once I place my order.

Yeah, sweet bloody time
I was on Vortech's website and they have the exact kit I want, Vortech V7 YSi-B
If I get confirmation on the extra work first thing in the morning (it's supposed to be okayed) and if the contract lasts me until July 15th then I will have all the $$$ to completely cover the Vortech kit.
