Nice man. I wish I was creative. I'm alright at fabbing, just never done much for the car. The next thing I want to learn is to weld, I just have to have it done so rarely that I can't justify it.

Work's been all sorts of hectic here lately so I haven't gotten much done until last night. Got everything back together and the car on the tender. Picked up a new oring set, damn fuel rail is still leaking. I'm starting to run out of ideas.

So got the fuel rail and oil leak issues resolved.
Gonna wait for the sun to go down and then bleed the brakes and flash a turbo tune on it and hope everything checks out. With any luck, it'll be completed tomorrow.

Anyone have a LSJ S256 with 80# injectors I could steal? She's not running happy at all right now. I tried making adjustments to the TVS file I had, but it hates it's life right now.

Yessir. 80# with stock fuel pump, and a return settup.
Really I think I just need to be closer than I am with the supercharger tune. It'll run angerly off the MAF sensor, however once disabled and I try to adjust my VE tables it throws a hissy fit and goes into engine power reduced mode before I can even get it into gear, so I can't even begin to get things closer.

It is the fuelab pressure regulator from Josh. If my memory serves me correctly it should be a rising rate regulator.

You sure it is all hooked up properly?
If it is not, the car will not idle for ****.
Is the base pressure set correctly?


I believe I have a file for you. It is for 80#, return, rising rate, but on a s252 turbo. Close enough though.

Close enough for government work.

I'll double check that it's hooked up right. I followed the install instructions that came with the regulator and it's maintaining 45 psi rail pressure while idling (with the MAF enabled).

Is that the base pressure for it? I thought it was 43psi base.
I am going to ask my buddy, his car is the one the tune file is from. We had a few issues getting it dialed in and idling.

That works. Base pressure is 43.5. Would 1.5 psi make a whole lot of difference? With it being a small gauge, and having to run from ignition to fuel rail, getting it dialed in at 43.5 seemed almost impossible.

His is set up to work under boost.
58psi minus vacuum at idle.
So assuming 20in at idle, it is 38psi. When with a ratio of 1:1 the pressure will rise 1psi every 1in or psi. So at 0psi fuel pressure is 58psi. At 5psi, fuel pressure is 63psi, and so on.

Ahhhh ok. So I'm a good bit high on my current settup.
I'll lower that down to 38 at idle.

inHg doesn't equal psi 1:1. It's close to 1 inHg = .5 psi

I normally set them at 58 psi with key on engine off. When you start it the vacuum will pull the pressure down at idle.

Doh brain fart on my end for not getting noticing that as well. That would likely explain my issue as well, as I'm 13 PSI below where I should be. Thank's for your input Josh.

You may not want my tune file then. This car is set up differently than josh is saying.

It sounds like it's settup close. Key in, engine off is essentially 0ps, which he sets to be 58psi just like your buddies, if I'm getting it correctly.

That works with me. It'll be nice to at least see a tune with rising rate. I'm on the HPT site now doing a bit more reading on the tuning of the boost reference settup.

You have to set the base pressure at idle with the vac line OFF the regulator. My base is 43.5 so at 19" vac at idle my fuel pressure is around 34psi.

^^^ Ahhh ok on setting the base. I was actually reading through that write up last night. My thought is the tune as well, that's why I was hoping I could steal the base from someone. Works picked up and I've been on the road about 2 days a week with long hours the other 3. I guess I shouldn't complain though. I was getting impatient and looking for a bit of a shortcut. I'll have some time tonight so I'll be ripping into the tune to make this thing run if it kills me tonight.

Yeah if i were you i wouldnt take anything from someone else and just slap in on your car. Start from scratch would be the best way.

Whew life got busy the last week or so.
So I got it running the other day. Still not happy but she ran. Has one hell of an exhaust leak. I think it may be pre-O2 sensor, so I'm fixing that and will see if that resolves that. Found out I also have a small fuel leak by the rear drivers side wheel. I guess with all the commotion going on back there, I put a small hole in the rusted line. Gonna pick up some -6AN braided stainless and fittings and am going to make the line. GM wants $115 plus whatever outrageous shipping it will be to ship a 15' line, so I'm just going stainless. I thought about bending my own, but by the time I get it in, the time is worth the cost of the line to me.
