Carbon on Exhaust Tip

I searched around but couldn't find much about this so...

I have a 2.2 with 4100 miles, and I've noticed (actually for a while now) what looks like a lot of carbon accumulated on the lower part of my exhaust tip. My S10 also had this, but since it didn't have a chrome tip I didn't notice it as much. Is it an indication of anything worth worrying about? Engine running too rich etc?

Thanks!!

Yeah, man. Its just car running rich, all the black stuff is actually un-burned fuel. Most cars come from the factory to run a lil' rich to protect the manufacturer of any warranty problems or lean conditions that might cause engine damage. Unfornately your gonna have to get used to it cause theres no way to solve it unless your running a perfect (stoich...) air-fuel ratio.
