Ethanol free 91

Ethanol free 91
Where I live there is ethanol free gas advertised everywhere. I was just wondering what ethanol free 91 would be like in my car? Okay? Or bad? I know the ethanol in fuel isn't very efficient when it comes to mpg and performance but I was jw. Would I need a different tune as well? I wouldn't think I would and I'm about to install my new PnP throttle body that I got on here. So I thought it would be cool to do both at once. Would I see any gains?

ethanol is what you want for performance, there is 0% ethanol in the gas i use and even being 94 octane its wanting to knock at low timing levels. generally most cars can cope with %0-%10 ethanol without any issues. i think you need a bit more info before more people can help you out on here. like what engine/tune do you have

Car Care FAQs
here's a clip:
Q. What is Ethanol?
A. Ethanol is ethyl alcohol or grain alcohol, mainly produced in the Midwestern United States from corn stock and in more limited quantities in Canada from wheat. It can be used as a biofuel alternative to gasoline. British Columbia and Canada require that gasolines contain an average of 5 % renewable fuel content. To meet BC's Renewable Fuel Standard, Chevron gasolines may contain up to 10% ethanol.

Well I'd rather have E here than 94 but with 94 and meth injection I was still able to get 20* on my bigwheel LNF

My 2.2NA gets no respect, which is exactly how I want it. It's got just enough power to put to shame any dumb ******** with completely stock cars who want to "put me in my place." Like the guy in the '14 Tundra this afternoon.

I am not even boosted but I'd still like access to at least 93. I'd like to dyno my car NA with E85 just to see how it does before boosting it.

there's no point in getting a tune now, I was trying to just buy a 2.2 pcm that's been tuned for an 07+ cobalt with similar mods, but I'm buying the first part for my supercharger on Friday. I'm gonna piece it together. I've been running 93 with everything but the throttle body and it's been fine.

Not what I meant. With the fuel trims off the computer has to compensate to get to the target A/F ratio which can result in knock. Your car in tuned for 87 so after you added all the mods which threw off the MAF trims going to a higher octane is a good idea but I think 93 is too much so I believe you can get away with 89 to 91 with 93 being a waste on the extra money
