Jesse's super ghetto "I don't care anymore" carbon G5 body build

My car blew up August 3rd last year. It ran out of oil and spun a bearing. So I bought a new car, anticipating selling this one for $1000 with all the upgrades and being on my merry way. NOPE. People here are cheap af and offered $300-400 because they're retarded and don't know what money goes into upgrading the suspension on a Cobalt.

So I fixed the spun bearing. Got new rod bolts. The whole thing. Then my timing guide broke. I punched a dent in it out of rage. People still won't buy it even for $700. And I've been getting idiots lecturing me about my car's worth via craigslist email. So I took my ad down and decided to do a "F*** YOU" build. This is probably going to take a LONG time but I don't care since nobody wants the car anyway. I'm doing a carbon roof right now, and plan on doing front fenders, a one piece pin on hood and trunk, the quarter panels, and even cutting out some of the floors/trunk floor to replace with carbon. I'll be ditching all but the drivers seat. Since no f***s are given, I'm riveting the new panels over the gaping holes I'm going to make in the body. Here's my progress so far:

Putting resin on the first few layers

Looks perfect. I'm keeping it as disorganized and uneven looking as possible. I want to keep that orange tape if I can.

The roof has seen better days but who cares? I sure as hell don't.

curious to see how this goes. IF you make a template for the front fenders and they come out nice, i might be interested in a set for the race car.

So you got mad that people wouldn't even offer you $1grand for a blown motor, non running, high mileage pontiac? AKA a car manufacturer doesn't even exist. I wouldn't either.

Anyways, build should be interesting. Following along.

I was asking $1000 for 6 month old rpf1s, a carbon trunk, and a ported head and throwing in a free car. Go fail trolling somewhere else.

Didn't weigh as much as I(or others) thought.

Convertibles are legal. T-tops are legal. Why not? I'm doing as much as I can. Next is probably the hood (5lbs goal) or the quarter panels.

I want to say others were pushing for a carbon insert for the sunroof, not the metal roof, which just a quick calc assuming a certain gauge steel can get you close to the number you got with the scale.

A lot of people wanted a sunroof insert but I probably had 5 people PM me for roof panels. I don't have a sunroof, and I don't really plan on making any more of these. Just a concept you could say.

Love the idea and the enthusiasm. Will be kinda taking this direction on my next tercel build, since the last one was rough and I loved it, then crashed it, so the new donor chassis can be super sketchy and i'll still have fun with it.

So I pulled a front fender off today and decided it wouldn't be worth making carbon replacements. Stock front fenders weigh roughly 4-5lbs. You'd get better weight loss pulling the passenger airbag.
