yes, but as i recall GM focused the attention to the L61 and put out the M62 supercharger after the LSJ was released....so if they follow that trend with the LNF...then they may release either a supercharger (prolly not since the Eaton contract is up) or a turbocharger...makes one think

I'm not that well read on the Turbo 2.2 options since it never really interested me. What I can tell you though is once that turbo goes on, kiss your warranty goodbye. I'm sure anything engine, suspension, etc related will be voided by any dealer since its such a major mod. Perhaps you might still be able to get things like the interior, electronics, radio etc warrantied, but definetly not the engine or trans.

if it's in the build book and GM validates installation....warranty is still good...but only if you use the brands that are endorsed by GM are put on your car

So a few pages back, Halfcent you said that the 2.2 auto could run on the Garrett turbo kit(I THINK THATS WHAT YOU SAID, SORRY IF I'M WRONG). You said that it would tear the tranny up cause of the hp gain. What if you just accelerate really slow till your in your final gear and then give it gas, could it work like that since it no longer has to shift.

And hence they don't have power steering, electronic throttle, or working instruments.

Additionally, above 500HP, the stock coil-on-plug ignition system no longer works. You must use an aftermarket system, like the Moroso distributor style system, which is not street legal.

so...has anybody successfully gone turbo on an 07 2.2l LS 5spd yet w/ piggyback ecu from AEM (part # 30-1910)? if so, what did your programming curves look like? how hard was it to keep the proper air/fuel ratios, and how long did it take to program? what is the safest boost to run on just the stock engine/tranny setup (until i go forged and get a better clutch)?

i was thinking i would get a dual port wastegate actuator and run low boost at 5psi with high boost either at 9 or 10psi...which should give me about a 35-50hp gain without killing my engine.

i can get the F/IC for 404 online or i can get it locally for 400.

please, before you post a question like this read more. there are parts u can use to supercharge your car. but 07's have different ECU's so you need piggy back tuning. Plus there is no real kit put together, you better know what your doing before you start a project like this. talk to yellowshowbalt, he did it, and i think hes using the smt-6 for tuning

Incorrect. Its actually both 05-06 and 07's require a piggyback unless you go with the Garrett Turbo kit. Then the 05-06's have a SCT reflash, but only if you run their turbo kit.

ECM swap...highly unlikely...Piggyback with the 07's....that's the hold up on me right now...i got all the parts i need pretty much to go turbo on an 07 LS...yet no standalone tuning, no ECM reflash software...nothing...unless you go megasquirt which i haven't the slightest idea about (nor do i have the time to do it)...

I can get you a Perfect Power XMS-Light for a very good price, about 500 bux. Its a standalone build specifically for 4cyl wasted spark applications. Its got all the features of megasquirts and more. Plus it already works with GM sensors. You would just have wire it up. But i wouldnt go standalone unless your going with something around 300+hp.

i'm only building to about 220hp (9-10psi) right now until i upgrade internals to push 300+ (15-17psi) but i got my eyes set on the AEM F/IC (part#30-1910) that i found locally for 400 and a contact i know can get it for around 404 if i order it online....

i still have to build my downpipe :-\...good thing i'm a machinist...and i still have to port out my turbo manifold and weld it all together...get it ceramic coated....blah....

in a minute i'll upload pics of this manifold (that i built)

https://www.cobaltss.net/gallery/bro...3&userid=20801 <---has pics of the manifold i'm building

They do have a different ECM, but they have not been cracked yet. HPT has said they are fairly close because that same ECM is used in other vehicles. I believe they needed a test vehicle.
