need oil pan... aftermarket or junkyard???

new to this, so take it easy on me, lol. any how, i just picked up a really nice 07, and it is being gutted and built into a dirt car. got fe5 suspension on the way, but its got a busted oil pan, from which i understand is fairly common for one thats been lowered etc. anyhow, there appears to be some new aftermarket oil pans out there relatively inexpensive, or is it best to get oem out of the salvage yard? what is the best route, or does it even matter? what say ye balt brigade.... thanks in advance!

There never was an "aftermarket" pan, just various companies making OEM ones. Go junkyard. If you can't find one I have a spare L61 pan for sale. Id just need to find a box for it.

Junkyard. you can get them cheap. then just make sure you clean it really good so there are no fragments.

Thanks to Foximus I've got a new oil pan on the way. correct me if I'm wrong, but in all my reading about this nobody mentions gasket... is there not one, and use red rtv only? anybody have the torque and order specs handy? even though with good common sense i don't think this is necc an issue.

There is a grey sealant. I'm not sure of a GM part number, but it's a bit more robust than red RTV. There may be a generic equivalent available.
