Why are valve locks/keepers so hard to find?

I had all my valve locks but someone moved my **** around and lost a LOT of them. Come to find out they are hard to find and they are like $5 EACH. I need like 24 of them. That's a ****-ton of money for something that costs like $8 for a complete set if I had a small block V8.

Is there an alternative?

Not gonna lie to get these out I used a socket and a BFH and they fell out. I have the Kent Moore tool to reinstall on the way. It's just someone mowed the lawn today and moved my **** and they spilled and God knows where they are now. I'll have to PM lsjion then. Thanks!

Bumping this from the dead. I just ordered a set of 32 valve locks from ZZP for $20. Yep, $20. I'll be the guinea pig here. Hopefully they'll be here soon so I can get started reassembling the head with the new cams.
