Anybody have an LE5 and K04? Need plumbing info

I bought a kit from ZZP and, other than drilling my oil pan and T-ing into some a line that I am waiting for them to send me parts for. I have 2 nozzles that are left open because the kit doesn't come with, or didn't come with the wastegate actuator control solenoid, the boost reference vacuum line and the atmospheric reference vacuum line. I can't imagine these would be left open, I have emailed a guy that has been very good at answering my questions at zzp and zzp customer service but I haven't heard anything back yet, probably because it's a holiday weekend. I have scoured the Internet trying to find something about my set up, but can't seem to get a solid answer. I have a hose going from the wastegate to a nozzle just before the throttle body and the line that previously was attached at the airbox to the top passenger side of the valve cover to the bpv. Anyone out there have an idea?

it all depends on if you can control the boost solenoid with the le5 computer. im not familiar with this setup, so i cant comment if you can use it or not, someone else will have to answer that.

but here is how you set it up if you arent using the boost solenoid. first, hook your boost bypass valve to a port on the intake manifold. hook the wastegate control line directly to the nipple marked "boost reference." this will run the engine directly off wastegate pressure, for more boost you can put an aftermarket boost controller into this line. cap the port marked "atmospheric reference."

That makes sense. I have seen a few pics of the wastegate connected to the boost reference. For my boost gauge, should I T into the line just before the throttle body? This is my first Turbo set up, sorry if these are dumb questions.

I have to get it up and running today, waiting on new O2 sensors because mine were rusted in and I butchered them.

Definitely run the wastegate off one of tbe compressor housing nipples, the other nipple i blocked off. Also for the bpv, do what sharkey said and connect it straight to the intake manifold. The boost gauage can be anywhere in the system but if you want it ro read vacuum then it needs to be in the intake manifold.

So I have this T going into the BOV

The circle is the boost reference line, and above that is the vacuum reference line that runs into....

.... The hose on the bottom left right above the fuel rail.

I don't really have an existing tap in the intake manifold unless I make one. Can I T into the T'd line? Also, with everything on the Turbo now tied into something, the nozzle on the air intake is open.

There is a hose on it, but it isn't leading anywhere

You can just block everything off that you dont need, bolts thread nicely into vacuum line. I drilled into the manifold, threaded an npt barb into the hole, the jb welded around it. Has held 25psi for over a year with no issues.

I got it running, finally. Coolant Temps went up to 250 before I noticed it. Only drove about 3 miles. So there is something I need to figure out. Might have an airlock. Probably need to replace the clutch, i have a KY stage 2 that I need to get on there. Rpms we're surging and my speed was going nowhere in every gear. I could hear the Turbo wanting more but I can't seem to get it to the wheels.

Yeah, it's tuned. Wasn't trying but every time I gave it a little gas my rpms shot up. It was raining and foggy so I wasn't giving it a whole lot.

At least I tried to flash it. It acted like it went through. I'll double check it when I get home from work

If youre flooring it in high gears at low rpm the stock clutch will slip but 1-3 you should be fine.

I never got it above 6k rpms, but when I did it acted like I had the clutch in, just revving the engine.

Heard back ZZP, boost line needs to be capped and the wastegate should connect to the lower charge pipe.

thats not going to make much difference in anything. some like to hook the wastegate signal from the cold side charge pipe, others just do it off the compressor cover. in theory you would see slightly higher boost being on the charge pipe as because of the pressure drop in the intercooler, however we are talking less than 1psi.

really doesnt make much difference
