Cold air intake for Cobalt SS 2.4L

Has anyone heard of any good cold air intakes or any real good performance parts if that for the cobalt ss 2.4L not supercharged. I found a Injen Race Division Cold Air Intake System Chevy Cobalt 2005-06 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec at

http://www.turbotechracing.com/produ...idproduct=1269

and was wonderin if anyone had heard anything about it

Took me 10 minutes with a screw-driver

Taking out the stock airbox is a little more difficult, that takes about 45 minutes with a ratchet set.

I highly recommend this kit, its definitely worth the time.

Order it from TTR they have the lowest prices

I just got mine from TTR last Saturday and put it on same day. I just used it as SRI for now. I will add the extra tube to make it full CAI later. So far I love it.

Hey guys... now.. i know NOTHING of how to install this stuff... where would I find someone to install if I decided to purchase this? And usually how much does the Labor cost?

I live in the South Hills of Pittsburgh...

And what does this exactly do for you? I have the 2.4 SS Coupe. I know it adds HP... just wondering exactly how much and if it helps with Gas Mileage or anything?

its not difficult to install just follow the instructions but if dont trust yourself then i dont think that taking it to a shop would be that exspensive... less than you paid for the intake anyway.

From my limited understanding of a CAI, it brings in cooler air from outside of the engine compartment at a higher flow than the normal stock intake. This allows your engine to use cooler air, which is more dense. Denser air + more fuel = more power. I heard that it was something like for every 10 degrees F drop in air temperature, it's about 1% HP and torque gain. I don't know how accurate that is... but that's what I've heard.

If you just install the short ram version you don't see as big of a gain, but still a little. The SRI still takes air in from under the hood, so it's the same temperature. However, it does increase the flow of air, so you do see (and actually hear) some gain.

I'm not really sure about gas milage though. At first thought, one would think worse gas milage because of more fuel consumption (it is a performance part afterall). But then again, more power may mean less need to throttle as much. I don't know... I'm kinda new to all of this too.

Anyone else know about the gas milage changes with a CAI?

Easier Install for the Injen

I got the Injen for my 2.2L and would say you just gotta get it and get it from TTR. You'll get it in no time and I can tell you an easier way to install it than the directions that come with the kit.

The 2.2L and the 2.4L have the same air intake systems and install the same way. It's one of my posts under a thread started by someone else.
