ECU Retuning for Cold Air Intake Addition?

I'm looking to install the GM Performance Parts Cold Air Intake. I talked to my dealer and they said it won't require any retuning of the ECU, etc. I have a friend who got the stock CAI for his 08 Mustang V6 and he had to get a chip retuner so he could make the proper changes for the intake to work properly with the engine. Are there any chip issues involved with installing a CAI on a Cobalt? I've got a '08 Cobalt Sport w/ the 2.4L LE5. Thanks!

The answer is no, it will bolt on without any issues.

Sort of a similar question, but I have had my Injen CAI on for about 2 years and it just recently threw a CEL for the mass airflow sensor. So does that mean the car still thinks it has the regular intake on it and is delivering an improper fuel to air ratio? It does seem to run better when the CEL goes off (its intermittent). But, that could just be a placebo...

If it's been fine for two years and suddenly now throws a light, it's not related. I'm not sure how this ecu works, but it's possible for a vehicle's computer to derate power output with a cel.

**Wow I just realized how old this last post was. Whoops! I'd assume it's fixed by now.

You might have a better chance with AEM dryflow intakes, the oil on other filters can sometimes get on the MAF causing a code, not sure what else to suggest.

I thinking of this eBay intake for $75 with free shipping. A intake is a intake as far as I'm concerned. Just different filters, and colors mostly, lol. As long as a k&n or aem filter fits the pipe it won't matter what it comes with in my opinion.

Idle Air Control Valve?(2006 Model SS)

Hi, I am of course NEW to this thread and I am not even sure I am posting correctly...But anyway, here goes.....I have cleaned and replaced Plenty of IAC or Idle Air control valves in the past and I was looking for it on this car....I don't see one seperate like I have seen on other vehicles. So is it just built into the throttle body now?? the reason I was gonna clean it out was because of this little issue I have been having below:

When I press the clutch in between gears, (I go all the way to the floor), the RPM'S will raise a little before they drop down between gears... Also, when I rev the motor up while sitting in Nuetral the RPMs hang for a little while before they drop....The reason for this concern is cause I have a 2005 Sunfire with the 2.2L Ecotec with a 5-Speed and it doesnt do this. the RPMS drop instantly when the clutch is pressed and even if u slide it into Nuetral while going down the road, they dont hang like the cobalt and some times in the Cobalt if I rev the engine slightly while in nuetral going down the road, they will raise a little higher!! is this normal cause I have no idea!! i need to know if something is not functioning right or if I need to replace somethingThanks! in Advance!!.......Coop

I just moved to Dallas and I just noticed that when sitting in traffic my air temperature goes up to about 160. Is that something I should be concerned about? I have a K&N short ram intake.
