Official 2.4L Performance Modification List

Special thanks to PenguinPIE and all the CSS.net members that helped, and the original thread found here, for a majority of the information.

Intake: The stock air box is highly restrictive. Freeing this up would provide more air for combustion and increase power output
  • Cold Air Intake

    • Rebel Autoworks (RAW)
    • Advanced JDM >>

Exhaust: The less restrictive an exhaust setup is, the more power will free up from an engine. Our 2.4 stock exhaust system is decent (has 2.5" piping), but it is restricted by the header, cat (in the downpipe), and the exhaust section from rear wheel back (which becomes 2.25" piping and has a restrictive muffler)

OK I think I got everything that wasn't added from the last thread. If you see something missing or a link that doesn't work just post it up and I'll add it. Also if you have a video clip or picture of your exhaust that isn't already up please post the link and I'll add it.

Everything on CTIs website says N/A. Are they not producing parts atm?

Also, JBP doesn't sell outside of its dealer network, which based on the links on their site, no company seems to carry their products. I searched through the dealer links and not a single one has JBP cams (or anything that I could find).

hmm... apparently the lsj DP is a 3" not a 2.5... took my car to get exhaust and cat put on and he showed me how it's a 3" not a 2.5 and that the cat is not going to fit... might wanna add that to the list that it's not a 2.5 like once thought

You may have to call CTI to order it.

New to modding a car. What would be the best to choose from to replace the stock air intake? The Cold air intake, Short ram intake or intake manifold?

Thanks!

The stock manifold is fine for bolt ons. As for the intake its a matter of personal preference because the SRI and CAI make just about the same amount of power.

Thanks for the response.

Quick question, what would be an example of that personal preference between SRI & CAI?

You can hear the air being sucked in with the SRI not sure about the cold air though. I'm sure if you asked a member with one they could tell you.

I'm probably going with a SRI then. Living in FL where downpours come down anytime and the roads get a little flooded I don't think the CAI would be the best option.

Thanks for your help

Does the alternator pulley actually free up horsepower or is a just another thing to buy?

I don't know about the altanator pulley but the underdrive pulley does. Do a search I'm know there are a few threads on the topic floating around.

You may have to tune the car to adjust the ratio. Or perhaps something is wrong with your MAF sensor.
