^^^^^^lol
yeah the higher temp you go the less output of light you have. most people stay between 4300k white and 6000k white with very little blue. buuuuut different brands have different colors and temps, sooo it all depends

Stick with 4300-5000k if you want to have the most function out of your lights.

The best color(also known as Kelvin) for seeing wide, far and whatever is in front of you lol is 5k hid's. thats the brightest and its white which gives you closest to daylight. for looks i run 6k. its great visibility and also give a tinge of blue for nice looks. Also unlike the last post, you can use your stock housing with hid's, i can personally account for that. i have had my hid's for nearly a year now and there has been any signs of damage at all. I hope this helps man. Also a great and also cheap kit to purchase is at DDMTuning.com. its a company that makes the hids and many other parts for bmw's. they are a good price and very reliable. there is 6 guys at my work not including me that have kits from them and there has been no problems that havent been easly and quickly. So happy shopping lol.
also you will need to lower the aim on the headlights so that its not as focused in oncoming traffic.

8000k ftw!!!
i have 8k and love em, they are still friggen bright, and look badass too, even in stock housing HIDS are not all that bad, my buddy has hids in stock housing painted black and they output is good, minimal glare, good choice

buy some of these, you will have a nice cutoff line and your light wont be scattered going every which way.

I'm sure he meant the housings, painting the bulb is just stupid.
