Cruze...better MPG than Cobalt?

Chevy advertizes the Cruze as one, but the Cobalt makes the same MPG. I noticed this after all the hype Chevy was putting around their new engine design. I know there’s more that comes standard with the Cruze, but I’m not one to really care for all the bells and whistles.

So in terms of strictly gas mileage, is the Cruze really a better car? It doesn’t seem like Chevy made a huge leap here as far as fuel efficiency goes.

The cobalt was rated at like 25/35 depending on model and transmission. We all know you can get better on the highway and city with a good driver.

The cruze is rated at 24/36 with an auto with the Cruze ECO getting 28/42. Im sure with a good driver you can do better than its rated with the standard LT and if you can do better with the ECO that would be great.

To answer your question the cruze is better on gas but just barely. When you buy the cruze over the cobalt you are getting much more than better gas though. Its a better car all around.

I guess the ECO model is like the new XFE the Cobalt had. The XFE got around 40 MPG on a light foot if I remember too.
