The Eco trim comes with the 1.4t and a 6 speed manual trans. funny thing is it costs $4,000 less then the LTZ trim or $3,000 if you get it with the auto trans.

I really dont understand why everyone is getting so excited over this 1.4l engine. I seriously doubt it will even come close to he tolerence levels of the LSJ or the LNF.

^ I will correct myself they DO offer the 1.4T in a 6 speed manual trans. When wife and I went out to test drive one they told us that they didn't offer the 1.4TC in anything but auto. Guess the sales man (like always) didn't know what he was talking about.

In his defense, it seems that GM doesn't even know. They keep changing their minds.

yea the sale man said they didn't offer it, but on a few different web sites I have found today that said that the ECO would be available this fall/winter with the 1.4tc 6 speed manual.
But either way we test drove the Buick Regal turbo and we both liked it more than the cruze. We are still going to test drive the new genesis sedan (she likes not me) before we make another trade, but what ever we get will be the last for a long time.

RIGHT NOW you can only get the 1.4L with a 6spd auto (6T30/40). When the ECO becomes available it will have the M32 wide ratio with 3.55 final and .61 6th gear, starting around January they will be building all 1.4s with the M32 WR with slightly different gearing. (The M32-WR in the 1.8 LS cars has yet another completely different gearset)

The ECM's main input to torque calculation is the MAF signal, so spraying NOS would not be detected unless you sprayed through the MAF.
Yes, this also means a hacky tuning trick to get more "torque" (in the form of boost) is to rescale the MAF to underreport airflow, and add the fuel you'd lose back in at the PE table. These cars are open loop in PE mode, unlike the LNF so you can get away with this.
This trick alone added a few PSI of boost, but it's obviously not the "right way" to tune these.
But aftermarket intake systems that cause airflow to be under-reported will cause an increase in boost, and power, and likely help correct the ridiculously rich fuel mixture.

Update: Over the weekend I ironed out the driveability issues and have it running at 22psi solid. Am taking to the dyno in the next few hours, and should have dyno sheets later today
