Question What tires make the least road noise?

What are the best tires for least money out there that lessen road noise. It seems like when I first got my 2006 ss in 2007 the road noise was not too bad. BFG on it then. I put the same tire on it next and it had noise. I noticed that the tread wore off so quickly I hate to buy expensive tires to only keep them for 10k or a little better. So Next I got raptor tires which still had very loud noise. I have cooper zeon tires now and the road noise is still horrible. I have had them checked no belt slips they are in balance. The front needs to be replaced soon and the backs are ok. I am getting tired of hearing this noise all the time and I have an 11 month old baby girl that doesnt need to hear it all the time too.

What size do you need? are you looking for max performance or max treadwear? are you more willing to sacrifice grip to get quieter, or more willing to sacrifice treadlife to get quieter?

I have really good luck with Yokohama Avids, they tend to be VERY quiet in any given size.

My stock michlins are very quiet, MXV4 I think, are kind of expensive though. They also are showing little wear after 18K miles.

omgdude yokohama avids! i have had them on 3 of my cars and i love them because they are very quiet compared to tires with more aggressive tread patterns. i have 2 very young kids and I like to keep the noise level in the car down. ive used avids on my 98 cavalier, on my 01 grand am and on my 07 cobalt steelies. they last forever too. the ones on my cobalt came off my grand am. right now i have yokohama yk's on my 17's and they are kinda loud.
