Mass Air Flow Sensor/meter

Anyone have instructions on how to clean your Mass Air Flow Sensor once its out? I pulled it out of the Air Filter tube but the sensor is enclosed in a rectangular plastic housing with a metal plate on top. I havent seen a MAF sensor like this one. Usually they have a wire running accross it to clean. Should I just spray the hell out of it with MAF cleaner or is there something else Im supposed to do? Thanks for any help!

spray it really really well with this:

spray in the areas where air would flow, wait until it dries and reinstall.

Mass Air Flow Sensor

so i recently just got a motor put back in my car have everything hooked up or so i thought . i drove to the gas station and my lower radiator hose pops off(only thing i forgot was the clamp, i know im a *******) it gets all over the intake and MAF sensor.
on the way back the car went into limp mode and i havent been able to drive it since. everything is connected securely now. befor i found out they had MAF cleaner i used carb cleaner to clean it and put it back in. still goes into limp mode as soon as you hit the gas pedal. the car will idle perfectly.

the question is could this cause it to malfunction? will cleaning it with MAF cleaner change anything at this point? should i just buy a new MAF sensor?

thanks in advanced for any input

Even if you hosed off your engine in coolant it shouldn't have gotten on your MAF unless you had it outside of your airpipe or something. >_>

Pretty Crazy. Turns out my car kept throwing P0068 code for mass airflow. The Catalytic Converter was so clogged, it was choking the motor. Thank God there was a recall so I didn't have to pay for it. Only had 71k miles so beware if it happens to you. Car runs perfect now.
