Oil Life Meter won't reset

Changed the oil today and when i went to reset the oil life meter it wouldnt change to 100% It just did nothing. And before anyone asks if i hitting the right button i am. You go to oil life and then hold the arrow looking button down until it resets. I dont know why its doing this i have reseted it before in the past and it worked, just not working now for me. Has this happenend to anyone else? Oh and by the way the oil life meter reads 53% right now, so i was wondering does it have to be lower than 50% to reset?

turn the key to the on position(do not start the vehicle), press the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds, than turn the car on, that should reset the oil life

You have to hold the info button down while hitting the arrow, then hit it again or something to acknoledge it... RTFM.

Or click your heels together 3 times and say "There's no place like home!" lol

I could never get the gas pedal to reset mine.

You also cannot be in motion while you try to reset the oil life.

They changed it on our cars, and maybe some others. I tried holding down the gas pedal three times when i did my first changed my oil. Wouldn't work like it did on my other balts. Pulled out the owners manual. Turn the key to start, but don't start it. Then hold down the Arrow button and the info button, i beleive. It'll flash, then cycle through your options. Once you come to the oil life option, either hold the reset button or the arrown button. dun remember.

some of the newer gm cars the pedal reset won't work. mostly in cars that have our steering wheel controls but I recently did a 09 silverado and you have to use the trip reset to do it. They never keep stuff simple.

Read the manual it tells you everything on how to reset and the gas pedel 3 times doesn't work on our cars anymore they changed it

You have to go to where your oil reading % is then hold the the info button down for I believe 5 secs and then it resets or something

Just read manual
