How to disable TPMS?
Hey all,
Well I am sure most people hate the TPMS so I am trying to figure a way to disable it. I have googled it and it seems I can find a way for every car except a GM. So does anybody know how to disable it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. Since I am in Canada, is it not mandatory to have tpms like it is in the US so please don't bring this up.

dood, i'll just say it cause 200x other ppl will and u know it..........why?? i love my TPM's even when they flash at me cause it's -20C and the tires dropped a little extra pressure. Even if i had different winter rims and the TPM's were not even on the car anymore I'd still just leave it and ignore the dashlight, it's not that big of a deal. I drove my last car with the ABS/TCS lights on 24/7 cause i pulled the fuse, it was a hyundai and the systems SUCKED ASS.

Its a seperate module, typically made by continental on most GM vehicles unfortunately the BCM will still be looking for it and for it to be passing data so removing it isnt an easy fix. I've done some custom BCM programs to ignore them before but never on a cobalt :\

And looks like poo
On some cars, there is a constant power going to this module and if you cut the constant power, the tpms never initializes but still works so you never get an error light. I was hoping something similar to this would be possible for the cobalt.
I am surprised there is no hack out there yet another this annoying feature.

Yeah GM is a pain. I wish they had an option to disable it if it wasn't a regulation in the country. One of the stupidest things they have added to a car or they could have made the sensor $5 for all wheels.

The TPMS has been useful for me when I had a screw in my tire and the pressure dropped down I knew exactly which tire to check and realized the problem so I didn't drive and damage my rim. I would say buy the new sensors and enjoy.

Not on my '08. If I'm parked, the sensor works. If I change the pressure while parked, the DIC updates.
I think what you're trying to do is akin to removing On-Star crash response. It's an unobtrusive safety feature, why increase the risk to yourself and other drivers for the life of this vehicle?

What happened to me
Mine turned off when my car died when i left the lights on (top most switch on the handle). When i jumped it a few hours later the light was not on. Also my car was DEAD DEAD.. If it matters.
