Traction Control Cancellation Button, Where Is It???

I have an 09 LS coupe, automatic trans, 4-wheel antilock brakes. If you get stuck in the snow/mud, before you begin to rock the car, the owners manual says to disengage the traction control system and shows a button located on the dash below the emergency flasher button. I do not have this button, and we are positive the car has traction control. When I asked the dealer about this, they did not know and said that is the way it is.

Does anybody know anything about this missing button????

Thanks,
Dimitri

I would say that your car did not come with the traction control. I could be wrong though. What are your reasons for thinking that your car has traction control?

Traction control is usually for the SS cars. which you don't have.

Do you have steering wheel controls? If not you will have DIC buttons where the traction control button is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but im pretty sure that reference is only for the SS models. I read the same thing in my manual, and I have an '08 LT with traction control, and no button.

Traction control is offered to only automatics with antilock brakes as a high dollar opption. When I put the automaatic gear shifter to the low, first, gear, my information center reads traction control is off. With a stick it is like a launch control, I think!!!

Ls don't have TCS Standard. In 09 it's standard from the 2LT up.

...its not a high dollar option. Any automatic with ABS has it.
There's no button to disengage it. You either have to put it in L, or pull the ebrake up one click, but doing the Ebrake method will cause it to chime until you put it back

pop the gear into L it should disable T/C
be wary, the L gear limits you to 1st and 2nd gear

L 1-2, no tc
I 1-3
D 1-4+OD
