pg 3-21 in the owners manual says: Tilt glove box down by squeezing on each side until door can be lowered from it's track. Lower the glove box door.... I guess that's where the cabin air filter is.... hope this helps !

thats easy as hell just unbolt the dash and remove..... ive already done that...... remove your trim, then the a-pillars, then the top part of your dash is 2 pieces.... pull up on the part up against the windshield, there is like 15 clips holding it in, then unbolt the like 15-20 screws holding the main top dash in... and pull it out

Do this and then you have to pry the glove box away from the hinges. Don't break the plastic hinges on the box though. Once you get one off, the others come off easy. I have had mine off a bunch of times fixing rattles.

It's easy... just keep at it.

we pretty much dismantled the entire dash so that it could be painted...so if that all you are going to do i would probably use the same technique as stated ^^^^
alli can say it be careful because a new one through GM is pretty expensive.

Just pop the circle thing that is attached to the string piece through the hole in the glove box. then it is really easy to get in again.

What version manual do you have? My manual doesn't cover the cabin air filter ANYWHERE.

Not really. It is $195 list price from GM. I manage a collision center and we put dashes in fairly often. That's pretty cheap compared to most.
