help..car shifts funny t/c light on

the car is an 06 ss 2.4l automatic. the t/c light came on and the car was shifting rough. i did some research on here..came to the conclusion the cam sensors were bad..ordered both from chevy last friday. swapped them out and it was shifting great. i get in the car today and on the way home the t/c light came on and is now shifting funny again.. did the sensors really go bad in a week or is there another related issue to this? any input would be great

You need a tech to run a diagnostics to find any hidden CEL's. Your car is in a limp mode. I've been there and done that. Turned out to be a Cam Sensor Solenoid for me. But it could be anything that is causing your car to slip into the limp. Get it read and go from there.

is the cam sensor solenoid different that the two cam sensors on the valve cover?

I've been having this problem for a long time now as well. I was getting a P0011 and P0106 so I replaced the cam solenoids but now no more P0011 and just the P0106 remains. I still have the rough shifting t/c light on too. I know it is a MAP sensor code but I am not sure what to do now. voltage on the MAP sensor seems normal so I'm not sure what to do next I checked the manifold for leaks and there doesn't seem to be any I wonder if I maybe have a leak in one of my vacuum lines? Not sure but I really wish I had the money to just take it in and have it fixed.

maf sensor can also throw the TC light on and make the car shift rough. Does it do it when you go P to any gear?

when i forgot to plug the MAF in, my 2.2 started but TC light was on and it shifted rough as hell into anything from park.

Mine never does it from P. It just happens during random driving conditions. Seems like a lot of the times it is when I am climbing a hill, large or small. However I have also gotten it while at a steady cruise on a flat freeway, then immediately I get the t/c light, hard shifts but no CEL, I do however have the P0106 pending in the system until I turn it off and back on.

try to change your cam sensors, i got both of them from chevy for $100 and the car runs a lot better then it was. once in a while it will do it again but no where near as often as it was. i highly suggest changing them out. =]

I replaced the top cam actuators already and still happens everyday. I am at a loss now at what to try I still get the P0106 error pending in the system but it doesn't freeze frame. I checked for vacuum leaks and don't seem to have any. I really don't want to replace the MAP sensor and then have that not be the issue.

I also have a misfire in cylinder 4. Not the plug, not the coil....not sure what else. Only code is a p0304. I can hear it miss but its only every once in a while. Not all the time. The plug looks fine. (already replaced it a couple times to make sure. Swapped coils around to see if I can make it misfire on another cylinder...it dont.) Not sure what to do

Yeah steph, welcome to my world. I've been having this problem for almost 8 months now. some days it happens, some days it doesn't. Have you had your car checked for codes?

Just got my car this past friday, was doing the same thing. It turns out it was the Cam Shaft Actuator sensor...put a new and voila car runs like a champ. They also did Compression and Leak Down Test and everything checked out fine.

Well you are one of the lucky ones then. I've read a lot of different forums and there are many people that tried that and are still having the problem like myself. I guess I just have bad luck.

Wouldn't say I'm that lucky, since ive owned this car (bought it used this feb.) it's been to the dealer like 6 times. Misfire 1, Random Electrical Problems, A/C went out, Vacuum Leak( didnt find anything), Busted Flex Pipe (found the vacuum leak!), The that sensor...

Oh then this ******* slighty tee bone's me when i was on my way to put some gas in july.

Yeah...

Hey guys , having the same problem on my 06 ss/na auto as well

t/c light comes on no reason, and wont go off till the i turn off the car and restart it. but it only comes on periodically. Im also getting a p0301 misfire in cly 1. My brother swapped the coil packs around to check if those were causing the issue but it still misfired cly 1.

Trying to figure out the issue, I just bought the car 2 months ago, and its really bugging me

Well in case anyone wants to know I think I somehow fixed this issue on my car. It use to happen everyday and it hasn't happened for at least a week now. Basically I was cleaning the throttle body on my car and I decided to take my intake manifold off and inspect it. After removing the manifold I found no defects so I reinstalled it and then reinstalled my throttle body. I am however getting a high/rough idle after cleaning my throttle body however no more t/c light and hard shifting. It has been a bit colder than usual here as well but I don't think that matters because I was always having this problem int he past when it was cold. So I am not sure if it was some type of restriction in the throttle body or if just reinstalling/tightening the manifold is what fixed the problem. I also used carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks prior to removing the manifold but I did not find any leaks.

I no longer have mine but I had this problem for almost a year with mine. Even after i tuned and de-tuned the car, new computer swapped in, luckily a friend is a gm tech so he came out and worked on the car a lot. In the end my wires in my MAF connector had rotted away and the pin on one of them had dislodged causing numerous codes to throw. Check the small things like wires, harnesses, reflash the stock map again on the car.

im not sure if u are still having this problem but u should check the little wires that are running to your mass sensor they are known to rub on the motor and chafe just enough that they will get a ground throwing your sensor out of wack so it could be just a matter of throwing a little tape around the wire so its not hitting the motor
