Review of: Revised Shifter Bracket for LSJ
Just wanted to take a minute to review the revised shifter bracket that came stock on the 08+ Cobalt SS's.
The LSJ's come with a shift bracket that has rubber bushings in it, and the revised shifter bracket is stiffer, with the entire piece being metal.
From ZZP performance's website: "This came as OEM in the 08+ LNF Cobalt. The factory bracket has rubber bushings making the shifter feel mushy. This solid one will firm up the cable to linkage engagement allowing more precise gear changes."

Even after installing my TWM short shifter (including the upgraded solid bas bushings), I still felt as if the shifter felt a bit rubbery and sloppy. This revised shifter bracket took all the 'mush' out of the engagement of the gears. I recommend this cheap part ($28.49) to all LSJ owners whether you have a short shifter or stock shifter, you will notice a difference that's worth the money.

i put one in during my clutch job, and there is definitely a big difference. im still using the stock shifter. you are probably going to need to remove the pcm and the fuse box to take it off with the trans in the car.

Sorry, I didn't take any pictures.
I actually broke one of my shifter linkage cables between the shifter and the transmission. I just happened to have the Revised Shifter Bracket ready to install, so I had it installed while the cables were being replaced. (since they had to take off the current bracket to replace the cables)

lol ur funny, nah but theoretically its easy. take the drivers wheel off, un clip the cables from the bracket. ( I bought mine from dealer so it came with the bottom bracket as well that bolts right into the tranny and the bracket into this) unbolt the bracket, 13mm if i remember, install new one. and replace cables into new bracket. One thing that sucks is the lack of space to move your hands around in there.
